0:17 On the authority of Rib'i Ibn Hirash, who said:

0:20 I set out with Abu Mas'ud al-Ansari

0:23 to Hudhayfah Ibn al-Yaman, may Allah be pleased with them both.

0:26 Abu Mas'ud said to him,

0:29 "Relate to me what you heard from the Messenger of Allah,

0:32 peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, regarding the Dajjal."

0:35 He said, "The Dajjal

0:38 will emerge, and with him will be water

0:41 and fire. As for that which the people

0:44 see as water, it is fire that burns;

0:47 and as for that which the people see as

0:50 fire, it is cool, sweet

0:53 water. So whoever among you encounters him,

0:56 let him fall into that which he sees as fire,

0:59 for it is sweet, pleasant water."

1:02 Abu Mas'ud said,

1:05 "I, too, heard it from him."

1:09 Agreed upon.

1:12 From the benefits of the hadith:

1:16 The gravity of the trial of the Dajjal,

1:19 so that the people of faith may be wary of him.

1:22 The Dajjal is granted supernatural feats

1:26 such as are not granted to anyone else.

1:30 By their nature, people dislike fire

1:33 and love sweet water,

1:36 yet he possesses both of these types.

1:39 The Dajjal’s water is fire,

1:42 and his fire is sweet water.

1:45 He possesses only the outward appearance,

1:48 but in reality, it is the opposite.

1:52 It is incumbent upon whoever encounters

1:55 the trial of the Dajjal to look beyond that,

1:58 for it is sweet, pleasant water.

2:01 On the authority of 'Abdullah Ibn 'Amr Ibn al-'As,

2:05 may Allah be pleased with them both, he said:

2:08 The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said:

2:11 "The Dajjal will emerge in my Ummah,

2:14 and he will remain for forty—

2:17 I do not know if it is forty days,

2:20 or forty months, or forty years.

2:23 Then Allah the Exalted will send 'Isa Ibn Maryam,

2:27 peace be upon him,

2:30 and he will pursue him and destroy him.

2:33 Then the people will remain for seven years,

2:36 with no enmity between any two people.

2:39 Then Allah the Almighty will send

2:42 a cold wind from the direction of al-Sham,

2:45 and there will not remain on the face of the earth anyone

2:48 in whose heart is a mustard seed's weight of goodness

2:51 or faith, but it will be taken,

2:55 for it will enter into them until it takes them.

2:58 Then the most wicked of people will remain, as light as birds

3:01 and with the minds of beasts,

3:04 not recognizing good nor denouncing evil.

3:07 Then the Shaytan will appear to them

3:10 and say, 'Will you not respond?'

3:13 They will say, 'What do you command us?'

3:16 He will command them to worship idols,

3:19 while they are in that state, living

3:22 in prosperity and a good life.

3:25 Then the Trumpet will be blown,

3:28 and no one will hear it but he will incline his neck to one side

3:31 and raise the other.

3:34 The first to hear it will be a man tending to his camel's trough,

3:37 and he will be struck down, as will the people around him.

3:40 Then Allah will send—

3:43 or he said: Allah will send down rain—

3:46 like dew or shade,

3:49 and from it, the bodies of the people will grow.

3:52 Then it will be blown into again,

3:55 “And the trumpet is blown, and all who are in the heavens and all who are in the earth swoon away, save him whom Allah willeth. Then it is blown a second time, and behold them standing waiting!” (39:68)

3:58 and it will be said, 'O people,

4:01 come to your Lord.'

4:04 ﴾And stop them; indeed, they are to be questioned.﴿

4:07 Then it will be said, 'Bring forth the contingent for the Fire.'

4:10 It will be asked, 'From how many?'

4:13 It will be said,

4:16 'From every thousand, nine hundred and ninety-nine.'

4:19 That is a day

4:22 that will make children gray-haired,

4:25 and that is a day when the shin will be uncovered."

4:28 Narrated by Muslim.

4:33 The *layt* is the side of the neck.

4:36 The meaning of "he puts the side of his neck"

4:39 is that he raises his other side.

4:42 "The most wicked of people will remain, as light as birds,"

4:45 "with the minds of beasts,"

4:48 means they will be swift toward evil,

4:51 fulfilling desires and corruption,

4:54 like the flight of birds,

4:57 and in aggression and oppressing one another,

5:01 they will have the character of predatory beasts.

5:04 "Living in prosperity"

5:07 means they will benefit from it.

5:10 "Tending to his camel's trough."

5:13 "Dew" means like the semen of men.

5:16 "Bring forth the contingent for the Fire"

5:20 means its people who are sent to it.

5:23 "And that is a day when the shin will be uncovered"

5:26 means the shin of the Lord, Blessed and Exalted be He,

5:29 as it is in the hadith of Abu Sa'id al-Khudri,

5:32 may Allah be pleased with him, in the two Sahihs.

5:35 From the benefits of the hadith:

5:39 Specifying the duration of the Dajjal's stay on earth,

5:42 and that he will remain for forty days.

5:45 The narrator's statement, "I do not know if it is forty

5:48 days, or forty months,

5:51 or forty years," does not cause harm,

5:54 for the aforementioned hadith of Nawwas Ibn Sam'an

5:57 specified that

6:00 and clarified that he will remain for forty days.

6:04 Confirmation of the descent of 'Isa, peace be upon him,

6:07 and that he will kill the Dajjal at the Gate of Ludd.

6:11 There is no contradiction between the descent of 'Isa, peace be upon him,

6:17 is the Seal of the Prophets,

6:20 because 'Isa, peace be upon him,

6:23 will not descend with a new law

6:26 that abrogates the law of Islam;

6:29 rather, he will descend as a follower of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him,

6:32 and will rule by his law, the Book and the Sunnah,

6:35 and will revive matters of the law.

6:39 Islam and the Sunnah remove hatred, malice,

6:43 and resentment from the hearts of their followers.

6:46 That is why the people will remain

6:49 for seven years with no enmity between any two people.

6:52 The people of faith will be taken

6:55 before the Hour is established.

6:59 The Hour will not be established except upon the most wicked of creation,

7:02 who are distinguished by their love of immorality

7:05 and their oppression of one another.

7:08 That is why they do not recognize good

7:11 nor denounce evil.

7:14 The Shaytan has the ability to take form

7:17 in the image of a human.

7:21 The goal of the Shaytan regarding man

7:24 is that he associates partners with Allah who created him

7:27 and worships idols and statues.

7:30 Everyone who hears the first blast will be struck down.

7:34 The second blast will be

7:38 the establishment of the Resurrection, the Gathering, and the Reckoning,

7:41 and that the servant is responsible for his deeds

7:44 in this world.

7:48 Affirmation of the attribute of the "Shin" for the Lord of the Worlds,

7:51 but we mention the words of the Exalted:

7:54 ﴾There is nothing like unto Him,﴿

7:57 ﴾and He is the Hearing, the Seeing.﴿

8:00 So that we neither negate nor anthropomorphize.

8:04 On the authority of Anas, may Allah be pleased with him, who said:

8:07 The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said:

8:10 "There is no land but the Dajjal will tread upon it,

8:13 except Makkah and Madinah;

8:16 and there is no mountain pass of its passes

8:19 but there will be angels in rows

8:22 guarding them."

8:25 He will descend at the salt marsh,

8:28 and Madinah will shake three times,

8:31 and Allah will expel from it every disbeliever and hypocrite.

8:35 Narrated by Muslim.

8:39 *Naqb* means a gap or pass.

8:42 The *sabkhah* is land containing salt and minerals,

8:45 which does not grow vegetation, and this location

8:48 is outside Madinah, away from the heat.

8:51 From the benefits of the hadith:

8:55 The trial of the Dajjal will fill the earth,

8:58 and its people will be tested by that,

9:01 except Makkah and Madinah.

9:05 Makkah and Madinah are guarded,

9:08 and they prevent the Dajjal from entering them.

9:11 Madinah expels its filth,

9:14 just as the bellows removes the dross of iron.

9:17 That is why it shakes three times,

9:20 to cast out for the Dajjal every hypocritical renegade

9:23 and defiant disbeliever,

9:26 so that they may join him,

9:31 and faith will remain within it.

9:34 The statement of the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him:

9:37 "The Dajjal will be followed by the Jews of Isfahan,

9:40 seventy thousand,

9:43 wearing the *tayalisa* (shawls)."

9:46 Narrated by Muslim.

9:50 *Tayalisa* is the plural of *taylasan*,

9:53 which is a garment worn over the shoulder,

9:56 surrounding the body, woven for wearing,

9:59 free from tailoring or stitching.

10:03 From the benefits of the hadith:

10:06 The followers of the Dajjal are from the Jews—may Allah fight them.

10:09 In this is a warning regarding their plotting and malice,

10:12 and that they strive to destroy the world.

10:15 That is why they ride every wave

10:18 and exploit every opportunity

10:21 to pass their plots and achieve their goals.

10:24 The people of innovation, immorality, and corruption

10:27 adopt a symbol that distinguishes them from others,

10:30 and the symbol of the followers of the Dajjal

10:33 Wearing the taylasan (a type of shawl or hooded cloak).

10:37 Some scholars have indicated that wearing the taylasan is disliked.

10:40 For that reason.

10:44 On the authority of Umm Sharik, may Allah be pleased with her,

10:47 that she heard the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him,

10:50 say: "People will surely flee

10:53 from the Dajjal into the mountains."

10:56 Narrated by Muslim.

11:00 Among the benefits of the hadith:

11:03 It is necessary to flee and distance oneself from places of tribulation.

11:06 It clarifies the magnitude of the tribulation of the Dajjal.

11:09 And the severity of its evil.

11:14 On the authority of 'Imran Ibn Husayn, may Allah be pleased with them both, who said:

11:17 I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him,

11:20 say:

11:23 "Between the creation of Adam and the establishment of the Hour,

11:26 there is no matter greater than the Dajjal."

11:30 There is no matter greater than the Dajjal.

11:34 Meaning, it is the greatest tribulation and the most severe in impact.

11:37 Among the benefits of the hadith:

11:40 The tribulation of the Dajjal is the greatest tribulation

11:44 from the creation of mankind until the establishment of the Hour.

11:47 None will be saved from its evil

11:50 except for the few who encounter it,

11:53 and they are those whom Allah has protected,

11:56 and kept firm upon Islam and the Sunnah.
