1:07 He asked the Bedouin to follow him to his house so he could pay him the price of the horse.

1:19 People began approaching the Bedouin, bargaining with him to buy the horse.

1:25 They were unaware that the Prophet, peace be upon him, had already purchased it from him.

1:31 They offered him a higher price.

1:33 The Bedouin became greedy.

1:35 He called out to the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, saying:

1:40 "If you intend to buy the horse, do so; otherwise, I will sell it to someone else."

1:46 The Prophet, peace be upon him, said:

1:49 "Did I not already buy it from you?"

1:51 The Bedouin replied:

1:53 "No, by Allah!

1:55 I did not sell it to you."

1:57 The Prophet, peace be upon him, said:

2:00 "Yes, you did sell it to me."

2:03 The Bedouin asked:

2:05 "Who will testify for you?"

2:07 The Prophet, peace be upon him, remained silent.

2:12 I stepped forward and said:

2:14 "I testify that you sold it to the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him."

2:20 The Prophet, peace be upon him, turned to me

2:23 and said:

2:25 "On what basis do you testify,

2:27 when you were not present with us during the transaction?"

2:30 I replied:

2:32 "I testify based on my belief in you, O Messenger of Allah."

2:35 The Prophet, peace be upon him, approved of me,

2:39 and he made my testimony equal to the testimony of two Muslim men.

2:44 He validated me, saying:

2:46 "Whoever he testifies for or against, it is sufficient."

2:50 I was uniquely distinguished by this attribute above all other people.

2:54 Then the Prophet, peace be upon him, returned

2:57 the horse to the Bedouin after that.

3:00 The horse died that very night while in his possession.

3:04 When Zayd ibn Thabit, may Allah be pleased with him, wanted to compile the Qur'an,

3:10 by the order of the Caliph Abu Bakr al-Siddiq, may Allah be pleased with him,

3:15 he asked the people to bring him what they had written of the Qur'an,

3:19 along with two witnesses to testify that they had heard it directly from the Prophet, peace be upon him.

3:26 They compiled the Qur'an,

3:28 except for a verse from Surah al-Ahzab,

3:31 which is the saying of Allah the Almighty:

3:33 “Of the believers are men who are true to that which they covenanted with Allah. Some of them have paid their vow by death (in battle), and some of them still are waiting; and they have not altered in the least;” (33:23)

3:41 “Of the believers are men who are true to that which they covenanted with Allah. Some of them have paid their vow by death (in battle), and some of them still are waiting; and they have not altered in the least;” (33:23)

3:49 "...and they did not alter [the words of Allah] by any alteration."

3:54 They had memorized it,

3:56 but they could not find it written down except with me.

4:00 So they accepted it from me and placed it in the Qur'an

4:06 because they knew that my testimony was equivalent to the testimony of two men.
