1:25 I replied, "The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, used to forbid us from excessive luxury."

1:33 He said, "Why do I not see you wearing sandals?"

1:38 I replied, "The Prophet, peace be upon him, used to command us to go barefoot sometimes."

1:46 A man lost one hundred dinars.

1:50 He announced, "Whoever finds them, for him is twenty dinars."

1:55 The one who found them came forward.

1:57 He said, "This is your money, so give me what you promised."

2:03 The man said, "My money was one hundred and twenty dinars."

2:08 "So this hundred is mine, and the twenty dinars you have already taken."

2:14 They brought their dispute to me.

2:16 I said to the owner of the money,

2:18 "Was your money not one hundred and twenty dinars, as you claim?"

2:23 He said, "Yes."

2:25 And I said to the other, "You found one hundred?"

2:29 He said, "Yes."

2:31 I said, "Keep the money with you until its owner comes."

2:36 "Do not give him anything."

2:38 "For it is not his money."

2:40 One day we went out for a military campaign.

2:43 I was the commander of the army.

2:45 While we were moving quickly,

2:48 Someone said,

2:50 "O Commander,"

2:52 "The people have become scattered."

2:54 "Stop until they catch up with you."

2:57 So we stopped in a land near a fortress.

3:02 Suddenly, we were with a fair-skinned man with a mustache.

3:06 They brought him to me.

3:08 They said he had descended from the fortress without a safe-conduct.

3:12 I questioned him.

3:14 He said, "Last night I ate pork and drank wine."

3:19 "Then two men came to me in my sleep."

3:22 "They washed my stomach."

3:24 "Then two women came to me."

3:26 "They said, 'Accept Islam.'"

3:28 "So I am now a Muslim."

3:31 He had barely finished his words,

3:33 When a stone came from the fortress and struck him.

3:37 It crushed him, and he died.

3:40 I said, "Allahu Akbar."

3:43 "He did little work but received a great reward."

3:46 We prayed over him and then buried him.

3:50 A man came to me and said,

3:52 "Advise me with traits by which Allah may benefit me."

3:56 I said to him,

3:59 "If you can be known without being recognized, do so."

4:03 "And if you can listen without speaking, do so."

4:08 "And if you can sit without people sitting with you, do so."

4:14 So, who am I?
