0:16 I am a Companion from the Juhaynah tribe.

0:22 I was an ally of the Ansar.

0:25 I embraced Islam early on.

0:27 I witnessed the Second Pledge of al-Aqabah.

0:30 The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, used to send me on special missions.

0:37 And I would carry them out.

0:39 I am the heroic revolutionary.

0:41 And the man of difficult tasks.

0:45 I participated in the expedition of Abdullah Ibn Unays, may Allah be pleased with him.

0:49 To kill Ibn Abi al-Huqayq in Khaybar.

0:52 And I single-handedly killed the most dangerous man to the Muslims in the Arabian Peninsula.

0:57 For the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, called me one day and said:

1:04 "It has reached me that Khalid Ibn Sufyan al-Hudhali is gathering people to attack me."

1:11 "He is at Nakhlah, near Medina."

1:15 "So go to him and kill him."

1:17 I said, "O Messenger of Allah,"

1:20 "Describe him to me so that I may recognize him."

1:23 He said,

1:24 "The sign between you and him,"

1:27 "Is that when you see him, you will feel a shudder in your body."

1:32 I said,

1:33 "O Messenger of Allah,"

1:35 "I do not fear anyone."

1:38 He replied,

1:39 "Indeed,"

1:40 "You will feel a shudder when you meet him."

1:44 "And you will be reminded of the Shaytan."

1:46 So I set out toward Khalid al-Hudhali,

1:49 With my sword girded,

1:51 Until I reached him at the time of Asr.

1:54 When I saw him,

1:56 I felt the very shudder the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, had described to me.

2:03 I said,

2:04 "The Messenger of Allah spoke the truth."

2:06 I approached him,

2:09 And I feared that if a fight broke out between us,

2:13 It would distract me from the prayer.

2:15 So I prayed while walking toward him,

2:18 Signaling with my head.

2:21 When I reached him,

2:23 He said,

2:24 "Who is this man?"

2:26 I said,

2:27 "A man from the Arabs,"

2:29 "Who heard about you and your gathering against this man in Yathrib,"

2:33 "And I have come to join you."

2:36 He said,

2:37 "Yes, that is what we are doing."

2:40 So I walked with him,

2:42 Until I had the opportunity,

2:44 I struck him with my sword and killed him.

2:48 I left his women weeping over him,

2:52 And I hurried back to Medina.

2:55 When his companions saw that he had been killed,

2:58 They scattered in his wake.

3:00 When I arrived before the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him,

3:06 He said,

3:07 "The face has succeeded."

3:09 I said,

3:10 "I have killed him, O Messenger of Allah."

3:13 He said,

3:14 "You have spoken the truth."

3:15 Then he stood up with me and entered his house,

3:18 And gave me a staff.

3:20 He said,

3:22 "Keep this with you."

3:24 I went out to the people with it,

3:26 And they asked,

3:28 "What is this staff?"

3:30 I said,

3:31 "The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, gave it to me,"

3:35 "And commanded me to keep it with me."

3:39 They said,

3:40 "Will you not go back and ask him why?"

3:43 So I returned and asked him,

3:45 And I said,

3:46 "Why did you give me this staff, O Messenger of Allah?"

3:50 He said,

3:51 "It is,"

3:52 "A sign between me and you,"

3:55 "So that I may recognize you by it on the Day of Resurrection."

3:58 "For those who have a staff on that day will be few."

4:02 Meaning,

4:04 That few people will have righteous deeds,

4:08 To lean upon on the Day of Resurrection,

4:11 Just as a person leans upon his staff.

4:14 So this staff became my most precious possession.

4:19 I tied it to my sword,

4:21 And it never left my side.

4:23 When death approached me,

4:25 I gave instructions regarding it,

4:27 So it was placed in my shroud,

4:29 And buried with me.
