0:16 I am one of the Muhajirun and one of the senior Companions of the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.

0:28 I was the first to greet the Prophet, peace be upon him, with the greeting of Islam.

0:35 The Prophet, peace be upon him, commanded me to return to my people and invite them to Islam.

0:43 I remained among them until the Prophet, peace be upon him, migrated to Medina.

0:50 I then joined him there, accompanied by my people who had embraced Islam.

0:54 I witnessed with him the Battle of the Trench and the battles that followed.

0:59 I was the standard-bearer for my people during the Battle of Hunayn.

1:04 When the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, set out for Tabuk,

1:10 men began to fall behind him.

1:13 They would say, "O Messenger of Allah, so-and-so has fallen behind."

1:18 He, peace be upon him, would say, "Leave him be."

1:22 "If there is any good in him, Allah will cause him to catch up with you."

1:27 "And if it is otherwise, then Allah has relieved you of him."

1:32 While I was traveling with the army, my camel slowed me down.

1:38 Because of it, I fell behind the caravan.

1:41 People said about me what they were saying about those who had fallen behind.

1:46 As for me, when I was delayed because of the camel, I dismounted.

1:52 I took my belongings and placed them on my back.

1:56 I set out following the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, on foot.

2:01 The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, stopped at one of his encampments.

2:07 A man among the Muslims looked and said, "O Messenger of Allah,"

2:12 "here is a man walking on the road."

2:16 The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said,

2:20 "Be [it] so-and-so," and he called me by my name.

2:24 When the people looked closely at me, they said, "O Messenger of Allah, by Allah, it is indeed so-and-so."

2:31 The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said, "May Allah have mercy on him."

2:37 "He walks alone, he dies alone, and he will be resurrected alone."

2:43 And what the Prophet, peace be upon him, foretold came to pass.

2:47 After I participated in the Islamic conquests during the eras of Abu Bakr and 'Umar,

2:53 and the early part of the caliphate of 'Uthman, may Allah be pleased with them all,

2:58 I asked the Commander of the Faithful, 'Uthman, may Allah be pleased with him, for permission

3:02 to move to al-Rabadhah, and he granted it to me.

3:06 I lived there alone.

3:09 When death approached me, I gave instructions to my wife and my servant.

3:15 I said to them, "When I die, wash me, shroud me, and place me on the road."

3:23 "The first caravan that passes by you, say to them: 'This is so-and-so,'"

3:29 "the Companion of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him."

3:33 They did exactly that for me.

3:36 Suddenly, a caravan from the people of Kufa passed by, among them 'Abdullah Ibn Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him.

3:43 They asked, "Who is this deceased person?"

3:46 They informed them.

3:48 Ibn Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him, wept.

3:51 He said, "The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, spoke the truth."

3:57 For he had said about him, may Allah have mercy on him:

4:01 "He walks alone, he dies alone,"

4:04 "and he will be resurrected alone."

4:07 He and those with him prayed over me.

4:10 He personally placed me in the grave. So, who am I?
