0:33 My title was "The Horseman of the Messenger of Allah," peace be upon him.

0:39 The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, described me as the best of horsemen.

0:45 During the era of the Rightly Guided Caliphate, I killed the King of the Persians with my own hands.

0:50 He was wearing a garment valued at fifteen thousand dirhams.

1:00 I went out with the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, on an expedition.

1:05 When we met the enemy, the Muslims had the upper hand.

1:10 I saw a man from the polytheists attacking a man from the Muslims, intending to kill him.

1:16 I maneuvered until I came upon him from behind.

1:20 I struck him with my sword on the nape of his neck.

1:24 His armor fell away from him.

1:27 He grabbed me in a grip from which I felt the scent of death.

1:31 Then death overtook him, so he let me go and died.

1:36 Then the people returned, and the Prophet, peace be upon him, sat down.

1:42 He said, "Whoever kills an enemy combatant and has proof of it, he shall have his spoils."

1:49 I mentioned my encounter with the man to the Prophet, peace be upon him.

1:54 A man testified to that on my behalf.

1:57 So the Prophet, peace be upon him, gave me his armor.

2:01 I sold it and bought an orchard with it in the territory of Banu Salamah.

2:13 One day, I was bathing and had washed one side of my head.

2:19 Then I heard the neighing of my horse and its hoof striking the ground.

2:35 Suddenly, the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, was shouting,

2:41 I caught up with al-Miqdad, may Allah be pleased with him.

2:44 He informed me that Mas'adah had killed Muhriz, one of our companions.

2:51 I said to him, "I am going ahead; either I will die,"

2:56 "or I will kill the one who killed Muhriz."

2:59 I rode off until I caught up with Mas'adah.

3:02 I killed him and took his spoils.

3:05 Then the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, came.

3:09 When he saw me, he said,

3:12 "O Allah, bless him in his hair and his skin."

3:16 "May your face be successful."

3:18 "Did you kill Mas'adah?"

3:21 I said, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah."

3:24 He said, "What is this on your face?"

3:28 I said, "An arrow I was struck with."

3:31 He said, "Come close to me."

3:34 He spat upon it.

3:36 And the mark of it vanished.

3:38 He gave me Mas'adah's horse and his weapons.

3:41 I lived after that until I reached seventy years of age.

3:46 Yet I was as if I were fifteen years old.

3:50 Through the blessing of the supplication of the Prophet, peace be upon him.

3:55 The Prophet, peace be upon him, once prayed for me,

4:00 for Allah's protection.

4:02 That was when we went out with the Prophet, peace be upon him, on a journey.

4:07 He, peace be upon him, said,

4:10 "You will travel through the evening and the night,"

4:14 "and you will reach the water tomorrow, if Allah wills."

4:18 The people set off toward the water,

4:21 with no one waiting for anyone else.

4:24 I remained traveling with the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him.

4:29 While we were traveling in the middle of the night,

4:33 the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, became drowsy.

4:36 He leaned on his mount.

4:39 I came to him and supported him without waking him,

4:43 until he sat upright on his mount.

4:46 We continued traveling until most of the night had passed.

4:50 He leaned on his mount again.

4:52 I supported him without waking him,

4:55 until he sat upright on his mount.

4:58 Then we traveled until we reached the final part of the night.

5:04 He leaned in a way more severe than the first two times,

5:08 until he almost fell.

5:11 I came to him and supported him.

5:14 He raised his head and said,

5:17 "How long have you been traveling beside me like this?"

5:20 I said, "I have been traveling beside you like this since the beginning of the night."

5:26 He, peace be upon him, said,

5:29 "O Allah, protect him just as he has protected me since the beginning of the night."
