I saw the angels killing and taking captives between the heavens and the earth.

So I said to myself, "This man is divinely protected."

Then we were defeated and returned to Makkah,

where we stayed,

while Quraysh members were accepting Islam one man after another,

yet I was still adhering to polytheism.

When the day of Al-Hudaybiyyah arrived,

I was present and witnessed the peace treaty,

participating in its process until it was completed,

Then the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, arrived for the Fulfilled 'Umrah ('Umrat al-Qada'),

and Quraysh evacuated Makkah.

and we said, "O Muhammad, your stipulated time has ended,

becoming a mere follower?'"
