0:16 I am a woman from the Banu al-Nadir tribe of the Jews.

0:22 I am a descendant of the Prophet of Allah, Harun, peace be upon him.

0:26 My uncle was the Prophet of Allah, Musa ibn 'Imran, peace be upon him.

0:31 My husband is the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.

0:35 Thus, I am one of the Mothers of the Believers.

0:39 I was taken captive after the Battle of Khaybar.

0:43 The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, chose me for himself.

0:48 He gave me a choice, saying, "Choose for yourself."

0:52 "If you choose Islam, I will keep you for myself."

0:56 "And if you choose Judaism,"

0:59 "then perhaps I will set you free so that you may rejoin your people."

1:03 I replied, "O Messenger of Allah, I have longed for Islam."

1:08 "I believed in you even before you invited me."

1:11 "I have no desire for Judaism."

1:14 "I have neither father nor brother left among them."

1:17 "You have given me the choice between disbelief and Islam."

1:21 "Allah and His Messenger are dearer to me than being set free,"

1:25 "or returning to my people."

1:27 So the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, set me free and married me.

1:32 He made my manumission my dowry.

1:35 Then he sent me to Umm Sulaym.

1:38 I stayed with her until my waiting period ('iddah) had passed.

1:42 Then she prepared me for the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him.

1:47 When the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, came to me,

1:51 he saw a green mark near my eye.

1:54 He asked, "What is this?"

1:57 I said, "I saw in a dream,"

2:00 "as if the moon came from Yathrib,"

2:03 "and fell into my lap."

2:05 "I told this dream to my cousin,"

2:08 "and he slapped me, saying,"

2:10 "'Do you wish for the King of Yathrib to marry you?'"

2:14 "So this mark is from his slap."

2:18 One day, Hafsah became jealous of me and said,

2:22 "You are the daughter of a Jew."

2:24 The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, came to me,

2:28 while I was weeping.

2:30 He asked me the reason for my tears.

2:33 I told him what Hafsah had said to me.

2:36 He said, "Tell her,"

2:39 "'I am the daughter of a Prophet,'"

2:41 "'my uncle was a Prophet,'"

2:43 "'and my husband is a Prophet.'"

2:46 "'So what are you boasting about over me?'"

2:50 I loved the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, deeply.

2:54 When his wives, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, gathered during the illness in which he passed away,

3:01 I said,

3:02 "By Allah, O Prophet of Allah,"

3:05 "I wish that what you are suffering, I were suffering."

3:08 His wives began to signal to one another with their eyes.

3:12 The Prophet, peace be upon him, said to his wives,

3:15 "Rinse your mouths."

3:17 They asked, "For what reason, O Messenger of Allah?"

3:20 He said,

3:22 "Because of your signaling to one another regarding her."

3:25 "By Allah, she is indeed truthful."

3:28 So, who am I?
