0:04 Learn about the Companions, the scholars, and the prominent figures.
0:12 Try to guess who I am.
0:16 I am one of the Companions of the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.
0:22 I am from the Ansar.
0:24 My kunya is Abu Sa'd.
0:26 I witnessed the Battle of Uhud and all subsequent battles alongside the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him.
0:33 I was deeply obedient and attentive to his commands, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.
0:38 After the Battle of the Trench,
0:41 The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said:
0:45 "Kill any of the Jewish men you capture."
0:49 I immediately pounced upon Ibn Sunayna,
0:52 Who was a Jewish merchant
0:55 With whom we used to socialize and trade, and I killed him.
0:59 My brother, Huwayyisa, was older than me,
1:02 And he had not yet embraced Islam.
1:04 When he learned of what I had done,
1:06 He began to reproach me, saying:
1:08 "O enemy of Allah, did you kill him?
1:11 By Allah, much of the fat in your belly grew from his wealth!
1:16 You are truly a wicked man."
1:18 I replied to him:
1:20 "By Allah, he [the Prophet] commanded me to kill him.
1:22 And by Allah, had he commanded me to kill you, I would have killed you."
1:26 He said:
1:27 "By Allah,
1:29 If Muhammad commanded you to kill me, you would kill me?"
1:32 I said: "Yes.
1:34 By Allah, if he commanded me to strike your neck, I would strike it."
1:38 He then said:
1:40 "By Allah, a religion that has brought you to this state is truly amazing."
1:44 This was the first moment Islam entered the heart of my brother, Huwayyisa.
1:49 He spent the night tossing and turning,
1:52 Marveling at what I had said.
1:54 When morning came, he said:
1:56 "By Allah, this is truly a [divine] religion."
1:59 Until Allah opened his heart to Islam,
2:03 And he embraced Islam at the hands of the Prophet, peace be upon him.
2:10 I had a young servant who was a skilled cupper,
2:13 Known as Abu Tayyiba.
2:15 He used to earn a significant income.
2:18 When the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, forbade
2:22 The earnings of a cupper,
2:24 I sought permission from the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, regarding him.
2:28 But he refused.
2:30 I continued to speak to him about it and mentioned my need,
2:34 Until he said to me:
2:36 "Feed his earnings to your camel,
2:39 And feed it to your servants."
2:41 So I ceased taking the earnings of the cupper.
2:44 So, who am I?
2:59 We shall see in the next episode, if Allah wills.
