1:14 I accepted Islam at the hands of Abu Bakr al-Siddiq, may Allah be pleased with him.

1:20 I witnessed all the battles with the Prophet, peace be upon him.

1:25 It was because of me that the Pledge of Ridwan took place.

1:28 In it, the Prophet, peace be upon him, pledged on my behalf with his own hand.

1:33 I equipped the Army of Difficulty (Jaysh al-'Usrah).

1:36 I purchased the well of Rumah.

1:38 And I made it an endowment for the Muslims.

1:41 The Prophet, peace be upon him, wanted to expand the mosque.

1:46 So I bought land adjacent to the mosque.

1:49 And I gifted it to the Prophet, peace be upon him.

1:53 So he expanded his mosque.

1:55 He testified that I would be in Paradise more than once.

1:59 I am the most modest of this Ummah.

2:03 One day, I entered upon the Prophet, peace be upon him.

2:07 While his legs were uncovered.

2:09 When he saw me, he covered his legs and said:

2:13 "Should I not be shy of a man whom even the angels are shy of?"

2:18 I assumed the Caliphate after 'Umar, may Allah be pleased with him.

2:22 It continued during the era of the conquests.

2:25 Until it reached its furthest extent in the east and the west.

2:29 In my era, the Muslims fought at sea.

2:33 One day,

2:36 The people of Syria and the people of Iraq gathered.

2:38 In a battle before Armenia.

2:41 They disputed regarding the Qur'an.

2:44 Until Hudhayfah Ibn al-Yaman, may Allah be pleased with them both, heard.

2:48 From their disagreement what he disliked.

2:50 He rode until he came to me and said:

2:54 "Save this Ummah before they disagree about the Qur'an,"

2:58 "As the Jews and Christians disagreed about their scriptures."

3:02 I was alarmed by that.

3:04 So I sent to Hafsah, Mother of the Believers, may Allah be pleased with her.

3:08 "Send me the manuscripts in which the Qur'an was compiled."

3:13 She sent them to me.

3:15 I commanded Zayd Ibn Thabit,

3:17 Sa'id Ibn al-'As,

3:19 'Abdullah Ibn al-Zubayr,

3:21 And 'Abd al-Rahman Ibn al-Harith Ibn Hisham,

3:24 May Allah be pleased with them,

3:26 To transcribe them into codices (Mushafs).

3:29 And I said to them:

3:31 "If you and Zayd disagree on an Arabic word,"

3:35 "Then write it in the dialect of the Quraysh,"

3:38 "For the Qur'an was revealed in their tongue."

3:42 They did so until the codices were written.

3:45 Then I returned the manuscripts to Hafsah, may Allah be pleased with her.

3:49 And I sent a codex to every region of the Muslim lands.

3:54 And I ordered them to burn every codex.

3:57 That contradicted the codex I had sent them.
