0:16 I am among the senior female Companions.

0:21 I was the very first of all people to embrace Islam.

0:25 She was known for her sound judgment and intellectual maturity.

0:27 And among those women who are attested to have attained perfection.

0:30 And I am likewise the leader of the women of the worlds.

0:35 I used to hire men to trade with my wealth.

0:39 When she heard of the trustworthiness of the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him,

0:43 And his skill in trade.

0:46 I proposed to him that he go out on a trade journey to the Levant on my behalf.

0:50 This was before he was sent [as a Prophet].

0:54 He went out with it and returned with double the profit.

0:58 So I desired it.

1:00 So she sent word to him, offering herself to him in marriage.

1:03 Then the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, married me.

1:07 And she became his first wife.

1:09 And he is the mother of all his children.

1:11 Except for Ibrahim, peace be upon him.

1:14 And he, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, loved me dearly.

1:18 Ali did not marry until she had passed away.

1:22 When the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, was

1:26 He would seclude himself in the Cave of Hira'.

1:29 Gabriel, peace be upon him, came to him.

1:32 The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, was alarmed by it.

1:36 Then Gabriel, peace be upon him, said to him:

1:38 Read.

1:40 The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said:

1:43 I am not a reader.

1:45 In other words, I am not among those who are skilled in reading.

1:49 He repeated it to him three times.

1:52 And the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, says:

1:56 I am not a reader.

1:58 Then he said to him

2:00 “Read: In the name of thy Lord Who createth,” (96:1)

2:04 “Createth man from a clot.” (96:2)

2:08 Read, and your Lord is the Most Generous.

2:11 He who taught by the pen

2:14 “Teacheth man that which he knew not.” (96:5)

2:19 The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, returned with it.

2:23 His heart trembles.

2:25 He entered upon me while saying:

2:28 Wrap me up, wrap me up.

2:31 So I wrapped him in a garment until his fear subsided.

2:35 Then he informed me of the news.

2:37 And he said

2:39 I have feared for my own soul.

2:42 So I said to him

2:43 By no means.

2:44 Rejoice.

2:46 By Allah, He will never disgrace you.

2:49 You truly uphold the ties of kinship.

2:52 And speak the truth.

2:54 And he would bear the burdens of the needy.

2:57 Then I set out with him to my cousin, Waraqah Ibn Nawfal.

3:02 He was a man who had embraced Christianity during the pre-Islamic period.

3:05 And he reads from the book.

3:07 So I said to him,

3:09 Listen to what your nephew has to say.

3:12 Waraqah said:

3:14 O son of my brother, what is your opinion?

3:17 The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, informed him.

3:20 Regarding what transpired for him in the cave.

3:22 Waraqah then said

3:24 This is the Law that was revealed to Moses.

3:29 And when he, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, was sent [as a messenger]

3:33 I was the first to believe in him and affirm his truthfulness.

3:37 I played a significant role in supporting and strengthening him.

3:41 And assisting him in conveying the call to Islam.

3:45 This was among the factors that had a profound impact during the early days of Islam.

3:49 And within the soul of the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.

3:53 And it was the greatest honor I have ever received in this world.

3:57 The day that Allah sent peace to me through Jibril.

4:02 And he gave me the glad tidings of a house in Paradise made of hollowed pearls.

4:06 There shall be no clamor therein, nor any fatigue.

4:09 Death overtook me three years before the migration.

4:14 The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, was saddened by this.

4:18 intense sorrow

4:20 Then he passed away shortly after me.

4:23 The Prophet’s uncle, Abu Talib, peace be upon him.

4:27 Consequently, the grief of the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, intensified.

4:32 Until that year was named as such.

4:35 In the Year of Sorrow.

4:37 So, who am I?
