0:16 I am the uncle of the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.

0:23 I was among the leaders of the Quraysh during the pre-Islamic era.

0:27 I was known for my generosity and nobility.

0:30 To me belonged the responsibility of providing water to the pilgrims.

0:33 And the maintenance of the Sacred Mosque.

0:36 I witnessed the Pledge of al-'Aqabah with the Prophet, peace be upon him.

0:40 Before my conversion, to ensure his safety.

0:44 Then I embraced Islam and kept my faith hidden.

0:47 I remained in Makkah until I migrated from it before the Conquest.

0:54 I was present at Badr, forced to be there with the polytheists.

0:58 The Prophet, peace be upon him, commanded his Companions:

1:01 "If you encounter him, do not kill him."

1:04 So, they took me captive.

1:07 During the night, the Prophet, peace be upon him, heard

1:11 My voice as I groaned from the pain of my shackles.

1:15 This distressed him.

1:17 One of the Companions stood up and loosened my shackles.

1:21 When the Prophet, peace be upon him, learned of this,

1:26 He ordered that the shackles of all the captives be loosened.

1:30 I then paid my ransom and returned to Makkah.

1:35 When the Prophet, peace be upon him, set out for Makkah,

1:40 I left it as a migrant.

1:42 I met the Prophet, peace be upon him, on the road.

1:47 I witnessed the Conquest of Makkah with him.

1:50 And the battles that followed.

1:53 By doing so, I became the last of the migrants from Makkah before the Conquest.

1:58 And on the day of Hunayn,

2:02 I had a momentous role.

2:04 I remained steadfast with the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him.

2:08 And I did not depart from him.

2:10 When the Muslims and the disbelievers met,

2:13 The Muslims turned and fled.

2:16 But the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, began

2:20 To urge his mule toward the disbelievers.

2:23 And I was holding its bridle, restraining it,

2:26 Wishing for it not to hasten.

2:29 The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said to me:

2:33 "Call out to the People of the Tree."

2:36 So I called out at the top of my voice:

2:38 "Where are the People of the Tree?"

2:41 By Allah, they turned back when they heard my voice,

2:46 With the same affection a cow has for its calves.

2:49 They said:

2:50 "At your service, at your service!"

2:53 They returned and fought against the disbelievers.

2:56 The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, looked on,

3:00 While atop his mule, at their fighting,

3:03 And said:

3:05 "Now the battle has intensified."

3:08 Then the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, took some pebbles,

3:13 And threw them at the faces of the disbelievers,

3:16 Saying:

3:18 "They are defeated, by the Lord of Muhammad!"

3:21 I went to look,

3:23 And by Allah, no sooner had he thrown the pebbles at them,

3:27 Than Allah defeated them.
