1:33 and began defending him. I spotted them both from afar

1:38 and rushed toward them like a falcon, wanting to defend the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.

1:46 He, peace be upon him, had been struck on his head,

1:51 and two rings from his chainmail helmet had pierced his cheeks.

1:56 Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him, wanted to pull them out,

2:07 so that I might pull them out myself.

2:10 I tried using my hand, but I could not manage it,

2:13 so I pulled them out using my front teeth.

2:16 They did not come out of his cheek until my two central incisors fell out,

2:22 leaving me toothless in the front.

2:26 Yet people used to say that no toothless man ever looked more handsome than me.

2:34 A delegation from Najran came to Medina and stayed for several days.

2:39 The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, invited them to Islam

2:44 and recited the Qur'an to them.

2:46 But they refused and argued endlessly regarding Jesus, peace be upon him.

2:51 So the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, invited them to mutual imprecation (Mubahalah),

2:56 but they grew fearful and declined, saying, "We will not do it.

3:01 By Allah, if he is indeed a prophet and invokes a curse upon us,

3:05 neither we nor our descendants after us will ever prosper."

3:09 Then they said, "O Muhammad,

3:12 send with us a trustworthy man,

3:15 and send none with us but one who is truly trustworthy."

3:19 He, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, replied,

3:22 "I will surely send with you a man who is trustworthy, truly trustworthy."

3:27 His Companions, peace be upon him, craned their necks hoping to be chosen,

3:31 but he said to me, "Stand up."

3:34 When I stood up, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said,

3:40 "This is the trustworthy keeper of this Ummah."

3:43 So I went with them to Najran,

3:46 and they embraced Islam, and Islam spread among them.
