0:18 In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
0:22 “Praise the name of thy Lord the Most High,” (87:1)
0:26 He who created and fashioned [all things].
0:29 And He who determined [their destinies] and guided [them].
0:32 And He who brought forth the pasture.
0:35 And then made it dark stubble.
0:41 Exalt the name of your Lord, the Most High.
0:43 Do not invoke idols or false deities by His name.
0:46 He who created all things.
0:48 He fashioned their creation and balanced them.
0:51 And He who determined their nature.
0:53 And guided them to the paths of good and evil.
0:56 And He who brought forth from the earth.
0:58 The pasture for livestock.
0:59 Of various types of plants and grasses.
1:03 Then He turned that pasture into dry, brittle stubble.
1:06 Changed to a dark color due to extreme dryness.
1:11 We will make you recite, so you shall not forget.
1:15 Except what Allah wills.
1:19 “Save that which Allah willeth. Lo! He knoweth the disclosed and that which still is hidden;” (87:7)
1:24 And We will facilitate for you the path of ease.
1:28 We will make you recite this Qur'an, O Muhammad.
1:31 And you shall not forget it.
1:32 Except for what We will.
1:34 That We cause you to forget by abrogating it or lifting it.
1:37 Indeed, Allah knows what is manifest of your deeds, O Muhammad.
1:40 And what you have revealed and made public.
1:42 And what you conceal of it.
1:44 So beware that He might see you.
1:46 While you are acting in any of your states.
1:49 Contrary to what you have been permitted to do.
1:52 And We will make easy for you, O Muhammad, the performance of good deeds.
1:56 “Therefor remind (men), for of use is the reminder.” (87:9)
2:00 He who fears [Allah] will be reminded.
2:04 But the most wretched will avoid it.
2:08 He who will enter the Great Fire.
2:12 Then he will neither die therein nor live.
2:19 So remind, O Muhammad, the servants of Allah of His greatness.
2:22 Admonish them and warn them of His punishment.
2:25 If the reminder benefits those whose faith you have despaired of.
2:29 Then the reminder will not benefit them.
2:32 He who fears Allah and dreads His punishment will be reminded, O Muhammad.
2:36 And the most wretched of the two groups will avoid the reminder.
2:40 He who will enter the Great Fire.
2:42 In the intensity of its heat and pain.
2:44 Then he will neither die in the Great Fire nor live.
2:48 This is because the soul of one of them will reach his throat.
2:52 It will not exit so that he may die.
2:56 Nor will it return to its place in the body so that he may live.
3:01 “He is successful who groweth,” (87:14)
3:05 “And remembereth the name of his Lord, so prayeth,” (87:15)
3:10 He has succeeded and attained his goal who has purified himself from disbelief and disobedience to Allah.
3:15 And acted according to what Allah has commanded him.
3:17 He performed his obligatory duties, remembered Allah, and declared His oneness.
3:21 He called upon Him, sought Him, and performed the prayers.
3:25 And remembered Allah therein through praise, glorification, and supplication.
3:30 “But ye prefer the life of the world” (87:16)
3:34 While the Hereafter is better and more enduring.
3:39 “Lo! This is in the former scrolls.” (87:18)
3:44 The scriptures of Ibrahim and Musa.
3:49 The Almighty says, mentioning to the people:
3:52 Rather, you prefer, O people, the adornment of the worldly life over the Hereafter.
3:57 And the adornment of the Hereafter is better for you, O people, and more lasting in duration.
4:02 Because the worldly life is fleeting.
4:05 And the Hereafter is everlasting, neither ending nor perishing.
4:09 And His saying: "He has succeeded who purifies himself, and remembers the name of his Lord and prays."
4:14 Rather, you prefer the worldly life, while the Hereafter is better and more enduring.
4:20 Indeed, this statement is in the former scriptures.
4:23 The scriptures of Ibrahim, the Friend of the Most Merciful.
4:25 And the scriptures of Musa Ibn 'Imran.
