Those who believe know that it is the truth from their Lord; but those who disbelieve say: What doth Allah wish (to teach) by such a similitude? He misleadeth many thereby, and He guideth many thereby; and He misleadeth thereby only miscreants;” (2:26)

1:01 Indeed, Allah is not ashamed, nor does He fear, to set forth an example,

1:05 whether it be of a mosquito or something even greater than that.

1:09 As for those who believe in Allah and His Messenger,

1:12 they know that the example Allah has set is from Allah,

1:17 and that it is the truth from their Lord.

1:19 But as for those who reject the signs of Allah,

1:22 and deny what they know to be true, concealing what they have learned to be the truth,

1:26 they ask, "What does Allah intend by this example?"

1:31 Allah leads astray many of the people of hypocrisy and disbelief through the example He sets,

1:37 and He guides many of the people of faith and conviction through it.

1:41 It increases them in guidance upon their guidance and in faith upon their faith.

1:47 And Allah does not lead astray by the example He sets

1:50 except those who have deviated from His obedience and abandoned the following of His command,

1:56 those who break the covenant of Allah after its ratification,

2:02 and sever what Allah has commanded to be joined,

2:13 and spread corruption upon the earth.

2:15 It is they who are the losers.

2:21 And Allah does not lead astray by the example He sets

2:24 except the defiantly disobedient, who break the covenants of Allah that He established with them in the scriptures,

2:30 and upon the tongues of His prophets,

2:32 regarding the following of the command of His Messenger, Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him,

2:37 and the refraining from concealing that truth after Allah had secured their pledge to fulfill it.

2:44 They sever the ties of kinship that Allah has encouraged to be maintained,

2:48 by failing to fulfill the rights Allah has imposed upon them,

2:51 and the duties of kindness and connection He has made obligatory.

2:54 They spread corruption on earth through their disobedience to their Lord and their disbelief in Him,

2:59 their denial of His Messenger, and their rejection of his prophethood,

3:02 and their denial that what he brought to them from Allah is the truth from Him.

3:08 They are the ones who deprive their own selves of their share of Allah’s mercy through their disobedience to Him.

3:16 “How disbelieve ye in Allah when ye were dead and He gave life to you! Then He will give you death, then life again, and then unto Him ye will return.” (2:28)

3:24 “How disbelieve ye in Allah when ye were dead and He gave life to you! Then He will give you death, then life again, and then unto Him ye will return.” (2:28)

3:54 “He it is Who created for you all that is in the earth. Then turned He to the heaven, and fashioned it as seven heavens. And He is knower of all things.” (2:29)

4:14 And through his disobedience, he is deprived of the mercy of Allah.

4:28 It is Allah who created for you everything that is on the earth for your livelihood,

4:34 and subjected it to you out of His grace, so that it may be a provision for you in your worldly life,

4:40 and a means of enjoyment until the arrival of your appointed time,

4:43 and a proof for you of the oneness of your Lord.

4:47 Then He rose to the seven heavens while they were smoke,

4:51 and He fashioned them, perfected them, and set within some of them the sun, the moon, and the stars.

4:58 He ordained in each of them what He ordained of His creation.

5:03 And Allah is All-Knowing of everything; nothing is hidden from you, O hypocrites,

5:08 and you atheists and disbelievers, whether you reveal it or conceal it within yourselves.

5:14 “And when thy Lord said unto the angels: Lo! I am about to place a viceroy in the earth, they said: Wilt thou place therein one who will do harm therein and will shed blood, while we, we hymn Thy praise and sanctify Thee? He said: Surely I know that which ye know not.” (2:30)

5:24 “And when thy Lord said unto the angels: Lo! I am about to place a viceroy in the earth, they said: Wilt thou place therein one who will do harm therein and will shed blood, while we, we hymn Thy praise and sanctify Thee? He said: Surely I know that which ye know not.” (2:30)

5:45 Remember My blessings, and this which I said to the angels:

5:50 "Indeed, I am going to place a successor on the earth," and I will make successors upon it.

5:56 The angels said, "Will You place upon it one who causes corruption therein and sheds blood, while we declare Your praise and sanctify You?"

6:00 “And when thy Lord said unto the angels: Lo! I am about to place a viceroy in the earth, they said: Wilt thou place therein one who will do harm therein and will shed blood, while we, we hymn Thy praise and sanctify Thee? He said: Surely I know that which ye know not.” (2:30)

6:05 And will You leave off making Your successors from among us?

6:09 We glorify You with praise,

6:11 and we declare You free from what the polytheists attribute to You,

6:15 and we pray to You.

6:17 Their Lord said to them, "Indeed, I know that which you do not know,"

6:23 and that was what was hidden from them regarding the affair of Iblis and his harboring of pride.

6:29 “And He taught Adam all the names, then showed them to the angels, saying: Inform Me of the names of these, if ye are truthful.” (2:31)

6:33 “And He taught Adam all the names, then showed them to the angels, saying: Inform Me of the names of these, if ye are truthful.” (2:31)

6:43 “And He taught Adam all the names, then showed them to the angels, saying: Inform Me of the names of these, if ye are truthful.” (2:31)

6:58 Allah taught Adam the names of all things by which people identify one another:

7:02 human, animal, earth, plain, sea, mountain,

7:08 and similar things from nations and others,

7:12 as well as the names of his descendants and the names of the angels.

7:16 Then He presented those named things to the angels and said,

7:20 "Inform Me of the names of these, which I have spoken to Adam about,

7:24 if you are truthful in your claim that if I were to place My successor on earth from other than you,

7:30 his descendants would disobey Me and spread corruption therein,

7:34 and that if I made you the successors, you would obey Me."

7:38 For if you do not know the names of these,

7:42 even though they are created and existing, and you see and witness them,

7:46 and others have learned them through My teaching,

7:50 then you are even less likely to have knowledge of that which does not exist and is hidden from your eyes.

7:56 You are more likely to be ignorant of them.

8:10 We glorify You with praise,

8:14 and we declare You free from any knowledge other than what You have taught us.

8:18 Indeed, You are the Knower of the unseen, apart from all Your creation,

8:22 the Wise, who is perfect in His wisdom.

8:26 “He said: O Adam! Inform them of their names, and when he had informed them of their names, He said: Did I not tell you that I know the secret of the heavens and the earth? And I know that which ye disclose and which ye hide.” (2:33)

8:32 So when he informed them of their names,

8:38 He said, "Did I not tell you

8:42 “He said: O Adam! Inform them of their names, and when he had informed them of their names, He said: Did I not tell you that I know the secret of the heavens and the earth? And I know that which ye disclose and which ye hide.” (2:33)

8:50 that I know what you reveal,

8:54 “He said: O Adam! Inform them of their names, and when he had informed them of their names, He said: Did I not tell you that I know the secret of the heavens and the earth? And I know that which ye disclose and which ye hide.” (2:33)

8:58 He said, "O Adam, inform the angels of the names of those I presented to the angels."

9:06 When Adam informed the angels of their names,

9:10 they became certain of their error,

9:12 and that they had spoken of that which they did not know regarding the nature of their Lord’s decree.

9:18 Their Lord said to them,

9:20 "Did I not tell you that I know what is hidden from your sight,

9:24 and I know what you manifest with your tongues,

9:28 and what you were concealing within yourselves?"

9:32 Nothing is hidden from Me.

9:34 Your secrets and your public deeds are the same to Me.

9:39 And when We said to the angels,

9:43 "Prostrate to Adam," so they prostrated, except Iblis.

9:47 They prostrated, except Iblis, who refused.

9:51 “And when We said unto the angels: Prostrate yourselves before Adam, they fell prostrate, all save Iblis. He demurred through pride, and so became a disbeliever.” (2:34)

9:55 Remember My action toward you,

9:57 when I bestowed favor upon you and honored your father, Adam,

10:01 and made My angels prostrate to him.

10:03 So they prostrated to him, except Iblis.

10:07 He refrained from prostrating and grew arrogant against the command of Allah,

10:11 and he was among those who denied the blessings of Allah upon him and His favors toward him.

10:15 “And We said: O Adam! Dwell thou and thy wife in the Garden, and eat ye freely (of the fruits) thereof where ye will; but come not nigh this tree lest ye become wrong-doers.” (2:35)

10:21 "And eat from it in abundance wherever you wish,

10:27 but do not approach this tree,

10:33 lest you be among the wrongdoers."

10:37 Allah expelled Iblis from Paradise after his arrogance regarding prostrating to Adam,

10:43 and He had settled Adam and his wife, Hawwa', in it before Iblis descended to the earth.

10:49 And He said to him, "O Adam, dwell, you and your wife, in Paradise,

10:54 and eat from Paradise as a wide, pleasant provision of life wherever you both wish."

11:00 And He forbade Adam and his wife from eating from a specific tree among the trees of Paradise, to the exclusion of all others.

11:08 And He said to them, "Do not approach this tree,

11:13 for if you approach it, you will be among those who transgress beyond what was permitted to you."

11:20 “But Satan caused them to deflect therefrom and expelled them from the (happy) state in which they were; and We said: Fall down, one of you a foe unto the other! There shall be for you on earth a habitation and provision for a time.” (2:36)

11:28 And We said, "Descend, being enemies to one another.

11:33 And for you on the earth is a place of settlement and enjoyment for a time."

11:40 Then Iblis caused them to slip from the obedience of Allah,

11:44 and was the cause for the slip they committed.

11:48 So Satan expelled Adam and his wife from the abundant life they were enjoying in Paradise.

11:55 And We said, "Descend to the earth, being enemies to one another."

12:00 The enmity of Iblis toward Adam and his descendants was his envy of him and his arrogance in refusing to prostrate to him,

12:08 and the enmity of Adam and his descendants toward Iblis

12:12 was for his disbelief in Allah and his disobedience to his Lord.

12:16 And Allah said to them, "And for you on the earth are dwellings and homes where you will settle,

12:22 and for you is enjoyment from what it produces,

12:25 and from what I have given you upon its surface,

12:28 for the days of your life,

12:30 and after your death, you will be buried in it,

12:33 and you will reach the end of your enjoyment of it until I replace you with others."

12:39 “Then Adam received from his Lord words (of revelation), and He relented toward him. Lo! He is the relenting, the Merciful.” (2:37)

12:46 Indeed, He is the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful.

12:52 So Allah inspired Adam with words of repentance,

12:55 and Adam received them from his Lord and acted upon them,

12:59 and he repented for his sin,

13:01 so Allah accepted his repentance.

13:03 Indeed, Allah is the Accepting of repentance for those who repent among His sinful servants,

13:08 the One who bestows grace upon them by pardoning their slips and overlooking the punishment for their crimes.

13:14 He said, "Descend from it, all of you.

13:17 And if there should come to you guidance from Me,

13:23 then whoever follows My guidance,

13:26 then whoever follows My guidance,

13:29 there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve."

13:34 Descend from Paradise, all of you.

13:37 And if there should come to you from Me a clarification of My command and obedience,

13:42 and guidance to My path and religion,

13:45 then whoever follows it among you,

13:47 they will be secure in the terrors of the Resurrection from the punishment of Allah,

13:51 nor will they grieve on that day for what they left behind after their death in the world.

13:57 And those who disbelieve and deny Our signs, those are the companions of the Fire;

14:07 they will abide therein eternally.

14:12 And those who reject My signs and deny My messengers,

14:17 those are the people of the Fire,

14:19 who are its people to the exclusion of others,

14:22 abiding therein forever, without limit or end.

14:27 O Children of Israel,

14:30 remember My favor which I have bestowed upon you,

14:34 and fulfill My covenant.

14:40 O descendants of Ya'qub Ibn Ishaq,

14:44 remember the favor which I have bestowed upon you,

14:47 which is His choosing messengers from among them,

14:50 and His sending down the scriptures upon them,

14:53 and saving them from Pharaoh and his people,

14:56 and establishing them in the land,

14:58 and causing springs of water to gush forth,

15:00 and providing them with manna and quails.

15:03 And fulfill the testament that was taken from the descendants of Ishaq,

15:07 and the testament that was taken from the Children of Israel in the Torah,

15:11 that they should clarify to the people the affair of Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.

15:16 For if you do that,

15:19 I will admit you into Paradise.

15:21 And fear Me, and be mindful of Me, O you who waste

15:24 My covenant from among the Children of Israel,

15:27 and you who deny My Messenger, lest I bring upon you My punishment.

15:31 And believe in what I have sent down,

15:35 confirming what is with you.

15:38 “And believe in that which I reveal, confirming that which ye possess already (of the Scripture), and be not first to disbelieve therein, and part not with My revelations for a trifling price, and keep your duty unto Me.” (2:41)

15:42 And do not exchange My signs for a small price.

15:48 And fear Me alone.

15:52 Believe in what has been sent down to Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, from the Qur'an,

15:58 which confirms what is with you of the Torah,

16:01 because what is in the Qur'an regarding the command to acknowledge the prophethood of Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and to believe in him,

16:08 is the counterpart of what is in the Gospel and the Torah.

16:11 And do not be the first to deny it and reject that it is from Me.

16:16 And do not sell what I have given you of knowledge of My Book and its signs,

16:21 by abandoning its clarification for a cheap price and a small worldly gain,

16:27 such as their satisfaction with leadership over their followers.

16:30 And fear Me alone.

16:32 Lest I bring upon you the same punishments I brought upon your predecessors who followed your path.

16:39 “Confound not truth with falsehood, nor knowingly conceal the truth.” (2:42)

16:48 And do not mix the truth with falsehood, for they say,

16:53 "Muhammad is a sent prophet,"

16:56 except that he is sent to others, not us.

16:59 So their acknowledgment that he is sent to others is the truth,

17:03 and their denial that he is sent to them is the falsehood.

17:07 And do not conceal what you find in your Book of his description and attributes,

17:13 and that he is My Messenger to all people,

17:16 while you know that what he brought to you is from Me.

17:22 “Establish worship, pay the poor-due, and bow your heads with those who bow (in worship).” (2:43)

17:30 This is a command from Allah, the Exalted in His praise,

17:33 to those mentioned among the rabbis of the Children of Israel and their hypocrites,

17:37 to turn in repentance to Him,

17:40 and to establish prayer and give zakat,

17:43 and to enter into Islam with the Muslims,

17:46 and to submit to Him in obedience.
