0:22 “And women in the city said: The ruler's wife is asking of her slave-boy an ill-deed. Indeed he has smitten her to the heart with love. We behold her in plain aberration.” (12:30)

0:31 She had been captivated by love for him.

4:37 Indeed, He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.

4:42 So Allah answered Yusuf’s prayer.

4:46 He averted from him what the wife of al-Aziz desired.

4:50 He is the All-Hearing of Yusuf’s prayer when he called upon Him,

4:54 and the All-Knowing of his request, his need, and the needs of all His creation.

4:59 “And it seemed good to them (the men-folk) after they had seen the signs (of his innocence) to imprison him for a time.” (12:35)

5:06 They would surely imprison him for a time.

5:14 Then it occurred to them, after they had seen the signs of his innocence,

5:19 that they should imprison Yusuf,

5:22 despite the accusations the wife of al-Aziz had leveled against him.

5:25 They decided to imprison him until such time as they saw fit.

5:30 “And two young men went to prison with him. One of them said: I dreamed that I was pressing wine. The other said: I dreamed that I was carrying upon my head bread whereof the birds were eating. Announce unto us the interpretation, for we see thee of those good (at interpretation).” (12:36)

6:01 Two young men entered the prison with Yusuf.

6:04 It is mentioned that,

6:14 The reason for the King’s imprisonment of the two young men, as mentioned,

6:18 was that the King was angry with his baker,

6:21 having heard that he intended to poison him.

6:24 He also imprisoned his cupbearer,

6:27 suspecting that he had conspired with him in that.

6:30 One of them said,

6:32 "I saw myself in a dream pressing wine."

6:35 And the other young man said,

6:38 "I saw myself in a dream carrying bread upon my head,"

6:42 "and the birds were eating from the bread."

6:45 "Inform us of its interpretation, for we see that you are of the doers of good."

6:48 "We see that you are of the doers of good in all your actions."

6:54 “He said: The food which ye are given (daily) shall not come unto you but I shall tell you the interpretation ere it cometh unto you. This is of that which my Lord hath taught me. Lo! I have forsaken the religion of folk who believe not in Allah and are disbelievers in the Hereafter.” (12:37)

6:59 "I will inform you of its interpretation."

8:03 "And I have followed the religion of my fathers: Ibrahim, Ishaq, and Ya'qub."

8:12 “And I have followed the religion of my fathers, Abraham and Isaac and Jacob. It never was for us to attribute aught as partner to Allah. This is of the bounty of Allah unto us (the seed of Abraham) and unto mankind; but most men give not thanks.” (12:38)

12:31 However, he slipped in that, and because of it, Yusuf remained in prison for a longer time.

12:36 So he remained in prison for several years—a number between three and nine.

12:41 “And the king said: Lo! I saw in a dream seven fat kine which seven lean were eating, and seven green ears of corn and other (seven) dry. O notables! Expound for me my vision, if ye can interpret dreams.” (12:43)

12:53 "Seven lean ones eating them, and seven green spikes of grain and others dry."

13:03 “And the king said: Lo! I saw in a dream seven fat kine which seven lean were eating, and seven green ears of corn and other (seven) dry. O notables! Expound for me my vision, if ye can interpret dreams.” (12:43)

13:14 The King of Egypt said, "I see in a dream seven fat cows,"

13:20 "being eaten by seven lean ones."

13:24 "And I see seven green spikes of grain in my dream,"

13:33 "O you nobles among my men and companions, advise me regarding my vision and interpret it if you are interpreters of visions."

13:43 “They answered: Jumbled dreams! And we are not knowing in the interpretation of dreams.” (12:44)

13:54 The assembly said, "Your vision is a jumble of false dreams that have no reality."

14:00 "And we are not knowledgeable in the interpretation of false dreams."

14:07 “And he of the two who was released, and (now) at length remembered, said: I am going to announce unto you the interpretation, therefore send me forth.” (12:45)

14:22 Then the one who had been saved from the two prisoners spoke,

14:27 and he remembered, after a time, what he had forgotten regarding the affair of Yusuf.

14:31 "I will inform you of its interpretation, so let me go; I will go to bring you the interpretation from one who is knowledgeable about it."

14:41 “(And when he came to Joseph in the prison, he exclaimed): Joseph! O thou truthful one! Expound for us the seven fat kine which seven lean were eating and the seven green ears of corn and other (seven) dry, that I may return unto the people, so that they may know.” (12:46)

15:10 "Yusuf, O truthful one, advise us regarding seven fat cows seen in a dream, being eaten by seven lean ones,"

16:28 Yusuf said to the one who asked him, "You will sow for these seven years as you have been sowing for the years before them, according to your custom in the past."

17:46 When the messenger returned and informed them of the interpretation of the King’s vision from Yusuf,

17:50 the King knew the truth of what he had advised him regarding the interpretation of his vision and the correctness of it.

17:57 The King said, "Bring me the one who interpreted this vision of mine."

18:02 When the King’s messenger came to call him to the King, Yusuf said to the messenger,

18:09 "Return to your master and ask the King, 'What is the matter with the women who cut their hands, and the woman for whom I was imprisoned?'"

18:18 He refused to leave with the messenger until he established the truth of his situation regarding the accusations they had made against him concerning the women.

18:28 Indeed, Allah is All-Knowing of their deeds and actions, which a prophet has done; nothing of that is hidden from Him, and He is behind their recompense for it.

18:40 He said, "What was your affair when you sought to seduce Yusuf?"

18:49 “He (the king) (then sent for those women and) said: What happened when ye asked an evil act of Joseph? They answered: Allah Blameless! We know no evil of him. Said the wife of the ruler: Now the truth is out. I asked of him an evil act, and he is surely of the truthful.” (12:51)

18:56 The wife of al-Aziz said, "Now the truth has become clear; I sought to seduce him, and he is indeed of the truthful."

19:11 He said, "What was your affair and what was your situation when you sought to seduce Yusuf?"

19:21 They answered, saying, "Exalted is Allah! We know of no evil from him."

19:26 The wife of al-Aziz said, "Now the truth has become clear, been revealed, and manifested."

19:32 "I sought to seduce him, and Yusuf is indeed of the truthful in his statement that 'she sought to seduce me.'"

19:41 “(Then Joseph said: I asked for) this, that he (my lord) may know that I betrayed him not in secret, and that surely Allah guideth not the snare of the betrayers.” (12:52)

19:58 This action I took—refusing the King’s messenger, not answering his call to come out,

20:05 and asking him to question the women—was only done so that my master would know that I did not betray him with his wife during his absence.

20:17 And indeed, Allah does not guide the work of those who betray trusts.
