0:24 And mention the brother of 'Ad.

0:26 “And make mention (O Muhammad) of the brother of A'ad when he warned his folk among the wind-curved sandhills - and verily warners came and went before and after him - saying: Serve none but Allah. Lo! I fear for you the doom of a tremendous Day.” (46:21)

1:13 And these were their dwellings.

1:15 Messengers had already passed by, warning their nations before and after Hud.

1:20 That you should not associate anything with Allah in your worship of Him.

1:25 Indeed, I fear for you, O people,

1:27 Because of your worship of others besides Allah, the punishment of Allah on a tremendous Day.

1:32 Which is the Day of Resurrection.

1:51 The 'Ad said to Hud:

1:53 "Have you come to us, O Hud, to turn us away from the worship of our gods,

1:57 To the worship of that to which you invite us?

2:00 Then bring upon us what you promise us of punishment,

2:03 If you are among the truthful in your claim."

2:07 “He said: The knowledge is with Allah only. I convey unto you that wherewith I have been sent, but I see you are a folk that know not.” (46:23)

2:11 “He said: The knowledge is with Allah only. I convey unto you that wherewith I have been sent, but I see you are a folk that know not.” (46:23)

2:19 "But I see you as a people who are ignorant."

2:25 Hud said to his people:

2:27 "The knowledge of the time of the arrival of what I promise you

2:31 Of the punishment of Allah rests with Allah alone.

2:33 I know nothing of that except what He has taught me.

2:37 I am but a messenger to you, a warner,

2:40 Conveying to you the message with which I was sent.

2:44 But I see you as a people who are ignorant,

2:47 Regarding the true interests of your own selves,

2:49 For you do not recognize the harm that will befall you

2:52 By your worship of others besides Allah,

2:55 And in your haste for His punishment."

2:58 “Then, when they beheld it as a dense cloud coming toward their valleys, they said: Here is a cloud bringing us rain. Nay, but it is that which ye did seek to hasten, a wind wherein is painful torment,” (46:24)

3:17 Then, when the punishment of Allah, which they had sought to hasten, came to them,

3:31 Thinking that it was rain coming to them, by which they would be revived.

3:36 Hud said:

3:37 "Rather, it is the punishment you sought to hasten.

3:40 It is a wind containing a painful punishment,

3:45 “Destroying all things by commandment of its Lord. And morning found them so that naught could be seen save their dwellings. Thus do We reward the guilty folk.” (46:25)

3:49 “Destroying all things by commandment of its Lord. And morning found them so that naught could be seen save their dwellings. Thus do We reward the guilty folk.” (46:25)

3:54 Thus do We recompense the criminal people."

4:00 It destroys everything it is sent to destroy.

4:05 So the people of Hud became as though they had perished and vanished.

4:09 Nothing could be seen in their lands,

4:11 Except for their dwellings that they used to inhabit.

4:15 Just as We recompensed 'Ad with punishment in the immediate life of this world,

4:19 So do We recompense the people who disbelieve in Allah,

4:22 When they persist in their error and transgress against their Lord.

4:27 “And verily We had empowered them with that wherewith We have not empowered you, and had assigned them ears and eyes and hearts; but their ears and eyes and hearts availed them naught since they denied the revelations of Allah; and what they used to mock befell them.” (46:26)

4:33 And We gave them hearing,

4:36 “And verily We had empowered them with that wherewith We have not empowered you, and had assigned them ears and eyes and hearts; but their ears and eyes and hearts availed them naught since they denied the revelations of Allah; and what they used to mock befell them.” (46:26)

4:43 But their hearing and their sight did not avail them anything.

4:47 “And verily We had empowered them with that wherewith We have not empowered you, and had assigned them ears and eyes and hearts; but their ears and eyes and hearts availed them naught since they denied the revelations of Allah; and what they used to mock befell them.” (46:26)

4:54 “And verily We had empowered them with that wherewith We have not empowered you, and had assigned them ears and eyes and hearts; but their ears and eyes and hearts availed them naught since they denied the revelations of Allah; and what they used to mock befell them.” (46:26)

4:58 And they were encompassed by what they used to ridicule.

5:05 And We had established them, O people, the 'Ad,

5:08 In ways We have not established you in the world,

5:11 With abundance of wealth, stature, and physical strength.

5:16 And We gave them hearing with which to hear the admonitions of their Lord,

5:20 And sight with which to see the proofs of Allah,

5:24 And hearts with which to understand what harms them and what benefits them.

5:28 But their hearing, sight, and hearts did not avail them,

5:33 Since they did not use them in what would save them from the punishment of Allah,

5:37 As they used to deny the proofs of Allah,

5:40 Which were His messengers.

5:41 And the consequences of what they ridiculed returned upon them,

5:44 And what they mocked befell them.

5:47 So beware, lest there befall you what befell the 'Ad.

5:52 “And verily We have destroyed townships round about you, and displayed (for them) Our revelation, that haply they might return.” (46:27)

5:56 And We have explained the signs so that they might return.

6:02 And We have destroyed, O people, the towns around your town,

6:07 Such as the dwellings of Thamud, the land of Sodom, Ma'rib, and the like,

6:11 And We admonished them with various types of warnings and proofs,

6:15 So that they might return from the disbelief in Allah and His signs in which they persisted.

6:21 “Then why did those whom they had chosen for gods as a way of approach (unto Allah) not help them? Nay, but they did fail them utterly. And (all) that was their lie, and what they used to invent.” (46:28)

6:29 Rather, they were lost to them.

6:32 “Then why did those whom they had chosen for gods as a way of approach (unto Allah) not help them? Nay, but they did fail them utterly. And (all) that was their lie, and what they used to invent.” (46:28)

6:38 Why, then, did those whom We destroyed not help them,

6:41 Or their idols which they took for worship as an offering,

6:45 And as a means of drawing near to their Lord?

6:49 When Our punishment came to them, they did not save them from Our torment.

6:53 Rather, their gods abandoned them and did not answer them.

6:57 And that was their falsehood which they used to invent,

7:01 Saying, "These are our gods,"

7:04 Which they used to fabricate, saying,

7:07 "They bring us closer to Allah in position,"

7:10 And, "They are our intercessors with Allah."

7:14 “And when We inclined toward thee (Muhammad) certain of the jinn, who wished to hear the Qur'an and, when they were in its presence, said: Give ear! and, when it was finished, turned back to their people, warning.” (46:29)

7:22 “And when We inclined toward thee (Muhammad) certain of the jinn, who wished to hear the Qur'an and, when they were in its presence, said: Give ear! and, when it was finished, turned back to their people, warning.” (46:29)

7:27 “And when We inclined toward thee (Muhammad) certain of the jinn, who wished to hear the Qur'an and, when they were in its presence, said: Give ear! and, when it was finished, turned back to their people, warning.” (46:29)

7:36 And when We directed to you, O Muhammad, a group of the jinn listening to the Qur'an.

7:42 When they attended the Qur'an and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was reciting,

7:47 They said to one another,

7:49 "Listen quietly so that we may hear the Qur'an."

7:52 When the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) finished reciting the Qur'an,

7:58 They turned back to their people, warning them of the punishment of Allah for disbelieving in Him.

8:12 “They said: O our people! Lo! we have heard a scripture which hath been revealed after Moses, confirming that which was before it, guiding unto the truth and a right road.” (46:30)

8:24 They said, "O our people among the jinn,

8:26 We have heard a Book revealed after the Book of Moses,

8:31 Confirming what came before it of the Books of Allah which He revealed to His messengers.

8:36 It guides to the truth and to the straight path,

8:40 Which is Islam."

8:43 “O our people! respond to Allah's summoner and believe in Him. He will forgive you some of your sins and guard you from a painful doom.” (46:31)

8:49 “O our people! respond to Allah's summoner and believe in Him. He will forgive you some of your sins and guard you from a painful doom.” (46:31)

8:58 “And whoso respondeth not to Allah's summoner he can nowise escape in the earth, and he hath no protecting friends instead of Him. Such are in error manifest.” (46:32)

9:12 They are in clear error.

9:19 "O our people, respond to the Messenger of Allah, Muhammad, regarding what he invites you to of obedience to Allah,

9:26 And believe him in what he has brought to you.

9:29 Your Lord will forgive you your sins and conceal them for you,

9:34 And He will save you from a painful punishment if you repent from your sins."

9:40 And whoever does not respond, O people, to the Messenger of Allah, Muhammad, to the oneness of Allah,

9:47 He will not be able to escape his Lord when He intends to punish him,

9:52 And he will have no protectors besides his Lord to help him against Allah when He punishes him.

9:57 Those who did not respond to the caller of Allah are in deviation from the straight path.

10:03 It is clear to anyone who contemplates it that it is error.

10:23 Do these deniers not see that Allah, who created His creation after their death,

10:28 Can see and know that Allah, who created the seven heavens and the earth,

10:34 And was not wearied by their creation, so He would be unable to create them,

10:39 Is capable of bringing the dead to life,

10:41 Bringing them out of their graves alive?

10:45 And He gives life to the dead, and He gives life to the dead,

10:48 And He gives life to the dead,

10:50 Bringing them out of their graves alive.

10:54 Yes,

10:54 He is capable of everything He wills to create and intends to do.

10:59 He is Possessor of power; nothing incapacitates Him and nothing wearies Him.

11:05 “And on the day when those who disbelieve are exposed to the Fire (they will be asked): Is not this real? They will say: Yea, by our Lord. He will say: Then taste the doom for that ye disbelieved.” (46:34)

11:12 They said, "Yes, by our Lord."

11:15 He said, "Then taste the punishment because you used to disbelieve."

11:22 And on the Day these deniers of the Resurrection are presented to the Fire,

11:27 It will be said to them then,

11:29 "Is this not the punishment that you are suffering, and you used to deny it in the world, as the truth?"

11:36 These disbelievers will answer,

11:39 "Yes, it is the truth, by Allah."

11:42 The One who confirms this will say to them,

11:45 "Then taste the punishment of the Fire now because you used to reject it in the world and deny it."

11:52 “Then have patience (O Muhammad) even as the stout of heart among the messengers (of old) had patience, and seek not to hasten on (the doom) for them. On the day when they see that which they are promised (it will seem to them) as though they had tarried but an hour of daylight. A clear message. Shall any be destroyed save evil-living folk?” (46:35)

12:09 Yes.

12:19 So be patient, O Muhammad, over what has afflicted you for the sake of Allah of harm,

12:24 Just as the messengers of determination were patient in carrying out the command of Allah,

12:28 From among His messengers whom no hardship they encountered in His cause prevented from executing His command.

12:34 And it was said,

12:35 That the messengers of determination among them

12:38 Were those who were tested for the sake of Allah in the world with trials,

12:42 And the trials only increased them in striving in the cause of Allah,

12:46 Such as Noah, Abraham, Moses, and those like them.

12:50 And do not be impatient for their punishment by asking your Lord,

12:55 For that will inevitably befall them.

12:58 As if, on the day they see the punishment of Allah which He promises to inflict upon them,

13:04 They had not remained in the world except for an hour of a day.

13:08 Because the intensity of the punishment that descends upon them will make them forget the duration of their stay in the world.

13:15 This Qur'an is a message for them and a sufficiency if they take heed.

13:20 And it was said,

13:21 That is a message for them in the world until their appointed time.

13:25 So will Allah destroy with His punishment, when He sends it, anyone except the people who disobeyed His command and disbelieved in Him?
