0:22 “Allah hath heard the saying of her that disputeth with thee (Muhammad) concerning her husband, and complaineth unto Allah. And Allah heareth your colloquy. Lo! Allah is Hearer, Knower.” (58:1)

0:28 And she complains to Allah.

0:31 And she complains to Allah.

0:34 And Allah hears your dialogue.

0:38 Indeed, Allah is All-Hearing, All-Seeing.

0:44 Allah has indeed heard, O Muhammad, the speech of the woman who argues with you concerning her husband.

0:50 She who was arguing with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, regarding her husband.

0:56 She was a woman from the Ansar.

0:58 Her argument with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, concerned her husband, Aws ibn al-Samit.

1:10 "You are to me like the back of my mother."

1:16 The woman who was arguing was complaining of the distress she felt.

1:19 Due to her husband’s zihar (declaring her unlawful like his mother) toward her, she complained to Allah.

1:22 And she asked Him for relief.

1:25 And Allah hears the dialogue of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.

1:29 The woman who was arguing was Khawlah bint Tha'labah.

1:33 Indeed, Allah is All-Hearing of what you both exchange and discuss, as well as all other speech of His creation.

1:40 All-Seeing of what you do and what all His servants do.

1:44 “Such of you as put away your wives (by saying they are as their mothers) - They are not their mothers; none are their mothers except those who gave them birth - they indeed utter an ill word and a lie. And lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.” (58:2)

1:56 Their mothers are none but those who gave birth to them.

2:03 “Such of you as put away your wives (by saying they are as their mothers) - They are not their mothers; none are their mothers except those who gave them birth - they indeed utter an ill word and a lie. And lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.” (58:2)

2:11 And indeed, Allah is Pardoning and Forgiving.

2:17 Those who declare their wives unlawful to themselves.

2:21 Allah has not made their mothers' backs unlawful to them.

2:25 Yet they say to them, "You are to us like the backs of our mothers."

2:30 That was how a man would divorce his wife during the pre-Islamic era (Jahiliyyah).

2:35 Their wives, whom they compare to their mothers, are not truly their mothers.

2:40 Rather, they remain lawful for them.

2:42 Those to whom they said that.

2:45 And indeed, the men say a reprehensible statement that has no basis in truth, and a lie.

2:51 Indeed, Allah is Pardoning and forgiving of the sins of His servants.

2:55 If they repent from them and turn back to Him.

2:58 He is Forgiving, so He will not punish them for it after repentance.

3:02 “Those who put away their wives (by saying they are as their mothers) and afterward would go back on that which they have said, (the penalty) in that case (is) the freeing of a slave before they touch one another. Unto this ye are exhorted; and Allah is Informed of what ye do.” (58:3)

3:15 Then [the expiation is] the freeing of a slave before they touch one another.

3:23 That is what you are admonished with.

3:26 And Allah is All-Aware of what you do.

3:31 And those who say to their wives.

3:38 Then they seek to make lawful what they had forbidden to themselves, which Allah has made lawful for them.

3:44 Then upon them is the freeing of a slave, male or female.

3:48 Before the man who performed zihar touches his wife, whom he declared unlawful, or she touches him.

3:55 Your Lord has obligated this upon you as an admonition for you to take heed.

4:00 So that you may desist from zihar and false speech.

4:03 And Allah, regarding the deeds you perform.

4:07 O people, is All-Aware; nothing of them is hidden from Him.

4:12 And He will recompense you for them.

4:15 So desist from reprehensible and false speech.

4:18 Whoever cannot find [a slave] must fast for two consecutive months before they touch one another.

4:28 “And he who findeth not (the wherewithal), let him fast for two successive months before they touch one another; and for him who is unable to do so (the penance is) the feeding of sixty needy ones. This, that ye may put trust in Allah and His messenger. Such are the limits (imposed by Allah); and for disbelievers is a painful doom.” (58:4)

4:42 And for the disbelievers is a painful punishment.

4:49 Whoever among you who has performed zihar upon his wife and cannot find a slave to free.

5:00 The two consecutive months are those in which there is no break by eating during the day, except for a valid excuse.

5:10 Whoever among you is unable to fast, then he must feed sixty poor persons.

5:16 This is what I have obligated upon those of you who perform zihar, in the event that you are capable of freeing a slave.

5:22 Then I have lightened it for him, in case of inability, by fasting.

5:25 And in case of inability to fast, by feeding [the poor].

5:29 I have only done this so that people may affirm the oneness of Allah and the message of the Messenger, Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.

5:37 And that they may believe in it, act upon it, and desist from false and lying speech.

5:43 These are the limits set by Allah for you, and the obligations He has clarified for you; so do not transgress them, O people.

5:53 And for those who disbelieve in them is a painful punishment.

5:57 “Lo! those who oppose Allah and His messenger will be abased even as those before them were abased; and We have sent down clear tokens, and for disbelievers is a shameful doom” (58:5)

6:20 And for the disbelievers is a humiliating punishment.

6:26 Indeed, those who oppose Allah regarding His limits and obligations, and set limits other than His.

6:34 That is the opposition to Allah and His Messenger.

6:38 They shall be humiliated and disgraced just as those before them were humiliated and disgraced—those nations who opposed Allah and His Messenger.

6:46 We have sent down clear proofs and decisive signs.

6:51 Which point to the truths of Allah's limits.

6:54 And for those who reject these clear signs that We have sent down to Our Messenger Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and those who deny them.

7:03 There is a humiliating punishment on the Day of Resurrection in Hell.

7:07 “On the day when Allah will raise them all together and inform them of what they did. Allah hath kept account of it while they forgot it. And Allah is Witness over all things.” (58:6)

7:17 Allah has recorded it, while they have forgotten it.

7:21 And Allah is Witness over all things.

7:28 And for the disbelievers is a humiliating punishment on the day Allah resurrects them all from their graves for the standing of the Resurrection.

7:37 Then Allah will inform them of what they did.

7:40 Allah has recorded what they did, counted it against them, established it, and preserved it.

7:45 While those who did it have forgotten it.

7:47 And Allah—may His majesty be exalted—over everything they have done, and all other matters of His creation.

7:53 Is a Witness; He knows it and encompasses it.

7:56 Nothing of it escapes Him.

7:59 “Hast thou not seen that Allah knoweth all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth? There is no secret conference of three but He is their fourth, nor of five but He is their sixth, nor of less than that or more but He is with them wheresoever they may be; and afterward, on the Day of Resurrection, He will inform them of what they did. Lo! Allah is Knower of all things.” (58:7)

8:46 Do you not consider, O Muhammad, with the eye of your heart?

8:50 That you see that Allah knows whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth.

8:55 Nothing of it is hidden from Him, whether small or great.

8:58 So how could the deeds of these disbelievers and their disobedience to their Lord be hidden from One whose attribute is this?

9:06 Then He—may His majesty be exalted—described His nearness to His servants and His hearing of their private conversations.

9:12 And what people conceal of their speech.

9:15 Which they discuss secretly among themselves.

9:18 He said: There is no private conversation of three of His creation but He is the fourth of them.

9:24 Meaning that He is watching them with His knowledge.

9:27 While He is upon His Throne, hearing their secrets and private conversations.

9:31 Nothing of their secrets is hidden from Him.

9:34 Nor is there any private conversation of five but He is the sixth of them, likewise.

9:40 Nor is there any number less than three or more than five but He is with them when they converse privately.

9:47 In whatever place or location they may be.

9:50 Then He will inform those who conversed privately, and others.

9:54 Of what they did—of deeds that He loves and deeds that He dislikes—on the Day of Resurrection.

9:59 Indeed, Allah, regarding their private conversations, their secrets, and the hidden aspects of their deeds.

10:03 And all other matters of theirs and the matters of His servants, is All-Knowing.

10:08 Have you not seen those who were forbidden from private conversation?

10:14 Then they return to what they were forbidden from.

10:23 And they converse privately about sin, aggression, and disobedience to the Messenger.

10:29 “Hast thou not observed those who were forbidden conspiracy and afterward returned to that which they had been forbidden, and (now) conspire together for crime and wrongdoing and disobedience toward the messenger? And when they come unto thee they greet thee with a greeting wherewith Allah greeteth thee not, and say within themselves: Why should Allah punish us for what we say? Hell will suffice them; they will feel the heat thereof - a hapless journey's end!” (58:8)

10:36 And they say to themselves.

10:55 Have you not seen those who were forbidden from private conversation—the Jews—then they return?

11:01 Allah—the Mighty and Majestic—has indeed forbidden them from it.

11:05 And they converse privately among themselves about sin, aggression, and disobedience to the Messenger.

11:10 Then they return to the private conversation they were forbidden from.

11:14 And they converse privately about what Allah has forbidden them of immorality and aggression.

11:19 That is contrary to the command of Allah and is disobedience to the Messenger, Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.

11:25 And when they come to you, O Muhammad—those who were forbidden from private conversation.

11:30 They greet you with a greeting other than that which Allah has made for you as a greeting.

11:35 Their greeting with which they used to greet you was that they would say.

11:41 "Al-sam 'alaykum" (Death be upon you).

11:43 And those who greet you with this greeting among the Jews say.

11:47 "Why does Allah not punish us for what we say to Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him?"

11:53 "So that He hastens His punishment upon us for that."

11:56 Sufficient for the one who says that, O Muhammad, is Hell.

11:59 It is sufficient for them; they will enter it on the Day of Resurrection.

12:03 And wretched is the destination, Hell.

12:06 “O ye who believe! When ye conspire together, conspire not together for crime and wrongdoing and disobedience toward the messenger, but conspire together for righteousness and piety, and keep your duty toward Allah, unto whom ye will be gathered.” (58:9)

12:11 So do not converse privately about sin, aggression, and disobedience to the Messenger.

12:24 But converse privately about righteousness and piety.

12:27 And fear Allah, to whom you will be gathered.

12:32 O you who have believed in Allah and His Messenger.

12:37 When you converse privately among yourselves, do not converse about sin, aggression, and disobedience to the Messenger.

12:43 But converse privately about the obedience of Allah and what brings you closer to Him.

12:48 And by fearing Him through performing the obligations He has charged you with and avoiding His prohibitions.

12:54 And fear Allah, to whom is your final return.

12:57 And with Him is your gathering regarding the neglect of His obligations.

13:01 And the persistence in His disobedience, that He will punish you for it when you return to Him.

13:07 “Lo! Conspiracy is only of the devil, that he may vex those who believe; but he can harm them not at all unless by Allah's leave. In Allah let believers put their trust.” (58:10)

13:26 And upon Allah let the believers rely.

13:32 Private conversation among the hypocrites is only from Satan.

13:38 That used to anger the believers and weigh heavily upon them.

13:42 And private conversation does not harm the believers at all, except by the decree and predestination of Allah.

13:48 And upon Allah let the people of faith in Him rely in their affairs.

13:53 And let them not be saddened by the private conversation of the hypocrites and their plotting against them.

13:58 And that their private conversation does not harm them if their Lord protects them.

14:24 “O ye who believe! when it is said unto you, Make room! in assemblies, then make room; Allah will make way for you (hereafter). And when it is said, Come up higher! go up higher; Allah will exalt those who believe among you, and those who have knowledge, to high ranks. Allah is Informed of what ye do.” (58:11)

14:33 And Allah is All-Aware of what you do.

14:38 O you who have believed in Allah and His Messenger.

14:43 When it is said to you, "Make space in the assemblies."

14:46 The assembly of the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and the assembly of battle.

14:51 Both places are called an assembly.

14:54 Make space, and Allah will make space for you in Paradise.

14:58 And when it is said, "Rise up," and you rise to fight an enemy, or for prayer, or for a good deed.

15:05 Or disperse from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.

15:09 Then rise.

15:11 Allah will raise those who have believed among you, O people, by their obedience to their Lord.

15:16 And Allah will raise those who have been given knowledge among the people of faith by the virtue of their knowledge.

15:21 [By] degrees, if they act upon what they have been commanded.

15:24 And Allah, regarding your deeds, O people, is All-Aware.

15:28 The obedient among you to his Lord is not hidden from Him, nor is the disobedient.

15:32 And He will recompense all of you for your deeds.

15:35 The doer of good for his good.

15:37 And the doer of evil for what he deserves, or He may pardon.

15:42 O you who have believed.

15:45 “O ye who believe! When ye hold conference with the messenger, offer an alms before your conference. That is better and purer for you. But if ye cannot find (the wherewithal) then lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.” (58:12)

17:45 And obey Allah and His Messenger in what He has commanded you and what He has forbidden you.

17:50 And Allah is All-Aware and knowledgeable of your deeds.

17:54 And He is recording them for you so that He may recompense you for them.
