0:23 “And when some hurt toucheth man, he crieth unto his Lord, turning unto Him (repentant). Then, when He granteth him a boon from Him he forgetteth that for which he cried unto Him before, and setteth up rivals to Allah that he may beguile (men) from his way. Say (O Muhammad, unto such an one): Take pleasure in thy disbelief a while. Lo! thou art of the owners of the Fire.” (39:8)

1:03 When a person is afflicted by a trial in his body, such as illness,

1:08 he calls out to his Lord in his distress,

1:11 repenting for the disbelief he held previously.

1:15 Then, when his Lord grants him well-being,

1:19 and removes his affliction,

1:21 he abandons the prayer he used to offer to Allah before his distress was removed,

1:27 and sets up rivals and likenesses for Allah.

1:30 To lead astray those who wish to worship Allah alone.

1:33 Say, O Muhammad, to the one who does this:

1:36 "Enjoy your disbelief in Allah for a little while until your appointed time is reached."

1:41 You are among the people of the Fire who will dwell therein.

1:45 This is a warning and a threat from Allah.

1:50 Is one who is devoutly obedient during the hours of the night, prostrating and standing, [equal to the disbeliever]?

2:33 Are those who know the reward they have for their obedience to their Lord equal [to those who do not]?

2:38 And [are they equal to] those who know the consequences of their disobedience?

2:42 And those who do not know that?

2:45 Only those of intellect and discernment take heed of the proofs of Allah.

2:48 And those of understanding and wisdom reflect upon them.

2:52 “Say: O My bondmen who believe! Observe your duty to your Lord. For those who do good in this world there is good, and Allah's earth is spacious. Verily the steadfast will be paid their wages without stint.” (39:10)

2:58 For those who did good in this world, there is good.

3:03 And the earth of Allah is vast.

3:15 Say, O Muhammad:

3:18 "O My servants who have believed in Allah and affirmed His Messenger,

3:22 fear your Lord by obeying Him and avoiding His disobedience."

3:27 For those who obeyed Allah, there is good in this world,

3:31 [which is] health and well-being,

3:33 and it is said: [it is] Paradise.

3:36 And the earth of Allah is spacious and vast,

3:39 so emigrate from the land of polytheism to the abode of Islam.

3:43 Allah only gives those who are patient regarding what they have endured in this world

3:48 their reward in the Hereafter without measure.

3:51 “Say (O Muhammad): Lo! I am commanded to worship Allah, making religion pure for Him (only).” (39:11)

4:00 “And I am commanded to be the first of those who are muslims (surrender unto Him).” (39:12)

4:05 Say, "Indeed, I fear, if I should disobey my Lord, the punishment of a tremendous Day."

4:13 “Say: Allah I worship, making my religion pure for Him (only).” (39:14)

4:18 Say, O Muhammad, to the polytheists of your people:

4:23 "Indeed, Allah has commanded me to worship Him, dedicating obedience to Him alone,

4:27 and to be sincere to Him in worship."

4:30 Say, O Muhammad, to them:

4:32 "I fear, if I disobey my Lord in what He has commanded me regarding His worship, the punishment of the Day of Resurrection."

4:39 Say, O Muhammad, to the polytheists of your people:

4:42 "It is Allah I worship, being sincere and dedicating my obedience and worship to Him alone.

4:47 I do not associate any partner with Him in that."

4:50 “Then worship what ye will beside Him. Say: The losers will be those who lose themselves and their housefolk on the Day of Resurrection. Ah, that will be the manifest loss!” (39:15)

5:43 “They have an awning of fire above them and beneath them a dais (of fire). With this doth Allah appal His bondmen. O My bondmen, therefor fear Me!” (39:16)

5:56 "O My servants, so fear Me."

6:02 For these losers on the Day of Resurrection in Hell,

6:09 [there will be] layers of fire like canopies.

6:12 And beneath them, there is fire that rises above them until it becomes like canopies.

6:17 This which I have informed you of, O people, regarding the punishment of the losers on the Day of Resurrection,

6:24 is a warning from your Lord to you, so that you may fear Him and avoid His disobedience.

6:30 So fear Me by performing My obligations upon you and avoiding My prohibitions.

6:36 “And those who put away false gods lest they should worship them and turn to Allah in repentance, for them there are glad tidings. Therefor give good tidings (O Muhammad) to My bondmen” (39:17)

6:41 “And those who put away false gods lest they should worship them and turn to Allah in repentance, for them there are glad tidings. Therefor give good tidings (O Muhammad) to My bondmen” (39:17)

6:45 So give good tidings to My servants.

6:49 “Who hear advice and follow the best thereof. Such are those whom Allah guideth, and such are men of understanding.” (39:18)

7:06 And those who avoid the worship of everything worshipped other than Allah,

7:12 and turn back to Allah, returning to the affirmation of His oneness and acting in obedience to Him,

7:18 for them are good tidings in this world of Paradise in the Hereafter.

7:22 So give good tidings, O Muhammad, to My servants who listen to the word and follow the best of it.

7:28 Those are the ones who listen to the word and follow the best of it.

7:33 They are the ones whom Allah has guided to righteousness and the attainment of the truth.

7:38 And those are the people of intellect and wisdom.

7:43 “Is he on whom the word of doom is fulfilled (to be helped), and canst thou (O Muhammad) rescue him who is in the Fire?” (39:19)

7:52 Is he upon whom the decree of punishment has been justified in the prior knowledge of your Lord, O Muhammad, because of his disbelief in Him [equal to the believer]?

7:59 Can you, O Muhammad, save one who is in the Fire, from among those upon whom the decree of punishment has been justified?

8:05 Can you save him?

8:07 “But those who keep their duty to their Lord, for them are lofty halls with lofty halls above them, built (for them), beneath which rivers flow. (It is) a promise of Allah. Allah faileth not His promise.” (39:20)

8:26 The promise of Allah; Allah does not fail in His promise.

8:52 We have promised these chambers to those righteous ones.

Lo! herein verily is a reminder for men of understanding.” (39:21)

9:38 Do you not see, O Muhammad, that Allah sent down rain from the sky,

9:44 and caused it to flow as springs in the earth?

9:47 Then He produced with that water various kinds [of crops],

9:51 including wheat, barley, sesame, and rice.

9:55 Then that crop dries up after its greenness, and you see it yellow.

10:01 Then He makes that crop, after it has become dry, broken debris.

10:07 Indeed, in Allah's doing that is a reminder and a lesson for people of intellect, that they may take heed.

10:13 So they know that He who did that,

10:16 will never be unable to bring about whatever He wills of things.

10:20 “Is he whose bosom Allah hath expanded for Al-Islam, so that he followeth a light from his Lord, (as he who disbelieveth)? Then woe unto those whose hearts are hardened against remembrance of Allah. Such are in plain error.” (39:22)

10:26 “Is he whose bosom Allah hath expanded for Al-Islam, so that he followeth a light from his Lord, (as he who disbelieveth)? Then woe unto those whose hearts are hardened against remembrance of Allah. Such are in plain error.” (39:22)

10:37 Those are in clear error.

10:43 Is one whose heart Allah has expanded for His knowledge,

10:48 so he is upon insight and certainty [equal to the one whose heart is hardened]?

10:51 [Is he equal to] one whose heart Allah has hardened,

10:53 and narrowed against listening to the truth and acting upon what is right?

10:57 So woe to those whose hearts are hardened against the Qur'an,

11:01 which He sent down as a reminder to His servants.

11:05 Those whose hearts are hardened are in clear error to anyone who contemplates and reflects upon them.

11:12 “Allah hath (now) revealed the fairest of statements, a Scripture consistent, (wherein promises of reward are) paired (with threats of punishment), whereat doth creep the flesh of those who fear their Lord, so that their flesh and their hearts soften to Allah's reminder. Such is Allah's guidance, wherewith He guideth whom He will. And him whom Allah sendeth astray, for him there is no guide.” (39:23)

11:18 [It is] a Book where the skins of those who fear their Lord shiver from it.

11:26 “Allah hath (now) revealed the fairest of statements, a Scripture consistent, (wherein promises of reward are) paired (with threats of punishment), whereat doth creep the flesh of those who fear their Lord, so that their flesh and their hearts soften to Allah's reminder. 11:38 That is the guidance of Allah; He guides with it whom He wills.

11:44 And whoever Allah leaves astray, there is no guide for him.

11:51 Allah has sent down the Qur'an, its parts resembling one another,

11:55 with no contradiction or inconsistency in it.

11:58 In it, the reports, news, judgments, rulings, and proofs are repeated.

12:04 The skins of those who fear their Lord shiver from hearing it.

12:08 Then their skins and their hearts soften to acting upon what is in the Book of Allah and believing in it.

12:15 This which befalls these people

12:18 is a success from Allah, which He has granted them.

12:22 Allah guides with the Qur'an whom He wills of His servants.

12:26 And whoever Allah leaves without support regarding faith in this Qur'an and belief in it,

12:31 there is no one to grant him success or guide him to follow it.

12:36 “Is he then, who will strike his face against the awful doom upon the Day of Resurrection (as he who doeth right)? And it will be said unto the wrong-doers: Taste what ye used to earn.” (39:24)

12:45 “Is he then, who will strike his face against the awful doom upon the Day of Resurrection (as he who doeth right)? And it will be said unto the wrong-doers: Taste what ye used to earn.” (39:24)

12:58 Is he who enjoys the Gardens [of Paradise equal to the one in the Fire]?

13:10 “Those before them denied, and so the doom came on them whence they knew not.” (39:25)

13:19 “Thus Allah made them taste humiliation in the life of the world, and verily the doom of the Hereafter will be greater if they did but know.” (39:26)

13:24 And the punishment of the Hereafter is greater, if they only knew.

13:32 Those before these polytheists from the nations that passed away denied [the truth],

13:40 so the punishment of Allah came upon them from where they did not expect its arrival.

13:46 So Allah hastened the humiliation for these nations in this world.

13:50 And the punishment of Allah for them in the Hereafter is greater than the punishment with which He punished them in this world.

13:57 If these polytheists of Quraysh only knew that.

14:01 “And verily We have coined for mankind in this Qur'an all kinds of similitudes, that haply they may reflect;” (39:27)

14:13 And We have presented for these polytheists in this Qur'an every [kind of] example from the parables of the past generations,

14:21 as a warning to them, so that they might take heed and refrain from the disbelief in Allah they are upon.

14:36 We have certainly presented for the people in this Qur'an every [kind of] example.

14:41 An Arabic Qur'an, containing no ambiguity, so that they may understand the warnings in it,

14:47 so that they may fear what Allah has warned them of regarding His might, and turn in repentance to His worship.

15:11 Praise be to Allah, but most of them do not know.

15:18 Allah presents an example of this disbeliever:

15:21 a man who is [owned] by a group of partners who are different and disputing,

15:26 and each one of them uses him according to his share and ownership of him.

15:32 And [another] man who belongs exclusively to one man—meaning the believing monotheist who has dedicated his worship to Allah alone.

15:39 Are they equal—this one who serves a group of partners whose characters are evil,

15:46 and the one who serves one [master] whom no one disputes with him over?

15:51 So which of these two is better in condition, more at ease in body, and less in fatigue?

15:56 Perfect gratitude is due to Allah alone, to the exclusion of every other object of worship.

16:01 But most of these polytheists do not know that they are not equal.

16:07 So, in their ignorance of that, they worship various gods besides Allah.

16:13 “Lo! thou wilt die, and lo! they will die;” (39:30)

16:22 “Then lo! on the Day of Resurrection, before your Lord ye will dispute.” (39:31)

16:31 Indeed, you, O Muhammad, will die before long.

16:36 And these deniers among your people, and the believers among them, will die.

16:42 Then, all of you, the believers and the disbelievers, will on the Day of Resurrection before your Lord dispute.

16:50 So He will take [justice] for the oppressed among you from the oppressor.
