It was summarized by Dr. Aqeel bin Salem Al-Shammar
0:14
Surat Al-Zumar
0:18
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
0:23
If harm befalls a person, he calls upon his Lord, turning to Him
0:30
Then, if He grants him a blessing from Him
0:34
Then, if He grants him a blessing from Him
0:39
He forgot what he was praying for before
0:44
He forgot what he was praying for before
0:48
And He gave God equals to stray from His path
0:54
Say, “Enjoy your disbelief for a little while, for you are among the inmates of Hell.”
1:03
If a person is affected by a calamity in his body, such as a disease
1:08
He sought help from his Lord because of the severity of this
1:11
Repenting to Him of the disbelief in Him that occurred before
1:15
Then if his Lord grants him well-being
1:19
So his harm was revealed to him
1:21
He abandoned his supplication, which he had previously called upon God to reveal the harm that was afflicting him
1:27
And He gave God examples and similarities
1:30
To remove those who wanted to unite God
1:33
Say, O Muhammad, to the one who did that
1:36
Enjoy your disbelief in God for a little while until you fulfill your deadline
1:41
You are one of the people of Hell staying there
1:45
This is a threat from God
1:50
Is he despondent at night, prostrating and standing?
1:59
Prostrating and standing, he warns of the afterlife and hopes for the mercy of his Lord
2:07
Say: Are those who know and those who do not know equal?
2:14
Only people of understanding remember
2:21
Is he despondent at night?
2:24
Prostrating at one time and standing at one time
2:27
He warns of the torment of the afterlife
2:29
He hopes that God will have mercy on him and admit him to Paradise
2:33
Are those who know equal the reward they have in their obedience to their Lord?
2:38
And there are no consequences for their disobedience
2:42
And those who don't know that
2:45
Rather, he considers the arguments of God and becomes disgraced
2:48
The people of reason and reasoning ponder it
2:52
Say, O servants of those who believe, fear your Lord
2:58
For those who do good in this world is good
3:03
God's earth is vast
3:06
Only those who are patient will be given their reward without reckoning
3:15
Say, Muhammad
3:18
O My servants who believe in God and believe in His Messenger
3:22
Fear your Lord by obeying Him and protect us from disobeying Him
3:27
For those who obey God there is good in this world
3:31
Health and wellness
3:33
And it was said: Paradise
3:36
God's earth is spacious and vast
3:39
So they migrated from the land of polytheism to the land of Islam
3:43
God only gives people patience for what they face in this world
3:48
Their reward in the afterlife without reckoning
3:51
Say, “I have been commanded to worship God, making my religion sincere to Him.”
4:00
I was ordered to be the first of the Muslims
4:05
Say, “I fear, if I disobey my Lord, the punishment of a great day.”
4:13
Say, “I worship God, sincerely, He has my religion.”
4:18
Say, O Muhammad, to the polytheists of your people
4:23
God commanded me to worship Him alone and obey Him alone
4:27
I worship Him most sincerely
4:30
Tell them, O Muhammad
4:32
I fear, if I disobey my Lord in what He has commanded me to do of worshiping Him, the punishment of the Day of Resurrection
4:39
Say, O Muhammad, to the polytheists of your people
4:42
I worship God as a single Savior who has my obedience and worship
4:47
I do not make him a partner in that
4:50
So worship whatever you want besides Him
4:56
Say: The losers are those who lose themselves and their families on the Day of Resurrection
5:05
Except that is the clear loss
5:10
So, you people, worship whatever idols you want
5:15
And other than what you worship
5:18
You will know the consequences of your worship when you meet your Lord
5:24
Tell them, O Muhammad
5:26
Indeed, the perishers who were destroyed by the punishment of God, their family with their own souls
5:32
Except that these polytheists will lose on the Day of Resurrection
5:37
It is the destruction that makes clear to those who see it and know that it is loss
5:43
They will have shades of fire above them and shades below them
5:51
This causes God to fear His servants
5:56
O servants, fear!
6:02
For those losers on the Day of Resurrection in Hell
6:06
Above them are shades of fire
6:09
Like the form of shadows built of fire
6:12
And beneath them of the Fire is what is above them until it becomes a shadow
6:17
This is what I told you, O people, about the punishment for the losers on the Day of Resurrection
6:24
A fear from your Lord towards you so that you may beware of Him and avoid disobeying Him
6:30
So fear Me by performing My duties upon you and avoiding sins
6:36
And those who avoid the taghut should worship it
6:41
And they turned to God for their humans
6:45
So give good news to servants
6:49
Those who listen to what is said and follow the best of it
6:54
Those whom God has guided
7:00
And those are people of understanding
7:06
And those who avoid worshiping everything that is worshiped other than God
7:12
They repented to God and returned to acknowledging His monotheism and acting in obedience to Him
7:18
They have humans in this world and paradise in the afterlife
7:22
So give good news, O Muhammad, to the servants of those who listen to the word and follow its guidance
7:28
Those who listen to what is said and follow the best of it
7:33
They are the ones whom God has guided to guidance and to do what is right
7:38
These are the people of reason and wisdom
7:43
Whoever is subject to the word of torment, will you save those who are in Hell?
7:52
Is he the one for whom the word of torment was imposed before your Lord knew, O Muhammad, of his disbelief in it?
7:59
Will you, O Muhammad, save the one who is in Hell from the one upon whom the word of torment is due?
8:05
You save him
8:07
But those who fear their Lord will have chambers above it
8:15
Built rooms with rivers running underneath them
8:26
God promised, God does not fail to promise
8:35
But those who fear their Lord by performing His duties and avoiding His prohibitions
8:41
They will have rooms in Paradise, above which are rooms built on top of each other
8:48
Rivers flow from beneath the trees of its paradise
8:52
We promised these rooms to these pious people
8:56
God does not break His promise to them
9:00
Have you not seen that God sent down water from the sky and caused it to spring into springs on earth?
9:13
Then he produces crops of different colors
9:19
Then it becomes agitated and you see it turn yellow, then it turns it into debris
9:31
Indeed, in that is a reminder for those of understanding
9:38
Did you not see, O Muhammad, that God sent down rain from the sky?
9:44
So he made eyes on the earth
9:47
Then he grew different types of plants with that water
9:51
Among wheat, barley, sesame and rice
9:55
Then that plant withers after its greenness, and you see it as yellow
10:01
Then he makes that planting, after it has become dry, young and broken
10:07
God's doing this is a reminder and a warning for rational people to remember Him
10:13
They know who did it
10:16
It will not be impossible for him to cause whatever things he wants
10:20
Is it someone whose heart God has opened to Islam?
10:26
He is on the light of his Lord
10:29
Woe to those whose hearts are hardened at the remembrance of God
10:37
Those are in clear error
10:43
Is he who God has opened his heart to know?
10:48
He has insight and certainty
10:51
As if God had hardened his heart
10:53
He is unable to listen to the truth and do what is right
10:57
So woe to those whose hearts have dried up from the Qur’an
11:01
Who sent it down as a reminder to His servants
11:05
These people have hard hearts and are in clear error to those who contemplate it and contemplate it
11:12
God sent down the best hadith as a similar book
11:18
It causes goosebumps on the skins of those who fear their Lord
11:26
Then their skins and hearts soften to the remembrance of God
11:38
That is God’s guidance, with which He guides whom He wills
11:44
Whoever God leads astray, he has no guide
11:51
God revealed the Qur’an, some of which resemble each other
11:55
There is no difference or contradiction in it
11:58
It includes information, reports, judgments, rulings, and arguments
12:04
Hearing it makes the skin of those who fear their Lord shudder
12:08
Then their skins and hearts will soften to act according to the Book of God and believe in it
12:15
This is what afflicts these people
12:18
May God grant them success
12:22
God guides with the Qur’an whomever He wills among His servants
12:26
And whoever God will let down from believing in this Qur’an and believing in it
12:31
He has no one who guides him and guides him in following him
12:36
Is he who will protect his face from the worst torment on the Day of Resurrection?
12:45
And it was said to the wrongdoers, “Taste what you used to earn.”
12:53
Is he who protects his face from the evil of torment on the Day of Resurrection better?
12:58
He will be safe in Paradise
13:00
On that day it will be said to the wrongdoers themselves
13:04
Taste today, O people, the evil of what you have earned in this world by disobeying God
13:10
Those before them lied, so the torment came to them from where they did not perceive
13:19
So God made them taste disgrace in this worldly life
13:24
And the torment of the Hereafter is greater, if they only knew
13:32
Those before those polytheists from the nations who passed away lied
13:40
Then the punishment of God came to them from the place from which they did not know that it was coming
13:46
May God hasten humiliation in this world for these nations
13:50
And God’s punishment for them in the afterlife is greater than the punishment with which He punished them in this world
13:57
If these polytheists from Quraish knew that
14:01
And We have presented for the people every example in this Qur’an, so that they may remember
14:13
We have presented to these polytheists every example of the past centuries
14:21
A warning to them so that they might remember and remove their blindness from disbelief in God
14:36
We have given people every example in this Qur’an
14:41
An unambiguous Arabic Qur’an so that they can understand the meanings it contains
14:47
So that they fear what God warned them about of His punishment, so they turn to worshiping Him
15:11
Praise be to God, but most of them do not know
15:18
God set an example for this infidel
15:21
A man who is between a group of different, disputing owners
15:26
Each one of them uses it according to his share and ownership in it
15:32
A man who is sincere to another means a monotheist believer who is sincere in his worship of God
15:39
Is it equal to someone who serves a group of partners who have bad morals?
15:46
And whoever serves one person, no one will dispute with him
15:51
Which of these two is better, has a better body, and is less tired?
15:56
Complete thanks to God alone, without every deity other than Him
16:01
Rather, most of these polytheists do not know that they are not equal
16:07
Because of their ignorance, they worship various gods other than God
16:13
You are dead and they are dead
16:22
On the Day of Resurrection, you will dispute before your Lord
16:31
O Muhammad, you will soon die
16:36
These people who denounce you and the believers among them are dead
16:42
Then all of you, believers and unbelievers, will dispute on the Day of Resurrection before your Lord
16:50
It will be taken from the oppressor among you for the oppressed
16:54
Conclusion from Al-Tabari’s interpretation
