0:14 Surah al-Saffat.

0:18 In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

0:23 "Gather those who committed injustice, along with their spouses and what they used to worship."

0:30 “Instead of Allah, and lead them to the path to hell;” (37:23)

0:38 Assemble those who disbelieved in Allah during their worldly life.

0:41 And their cohorts, who followed them in their disbelief in Allah.

0:46 And those they used to worship besides Allah, from among the deities.

0:49 Then direct them to the path of Hell.

0:54 "And stop them, for they are to be questioned."

1:00 “What aileth you that ye help not one another?” (37:25)

1:04 “Nay, but this day they make full submission.” (37:26)

1:09 Restrain them, O angels—these polytheists and their spouses.

1:14 For they are to be held accountable for what they worshipped besides Allah.

1:19 "What is the matter with you, O polytheists, that you do not help one another?"

1:24 Rather, they are today submissive to the decree and judgment of Allah regarding them.

1:29 Certain of His punishment.

1:32 And they will turn to one another, questioning.

1:39 “They say: Lo! ye used to come unto us, imposing, (swearing that ye spoke the truth).” (37:28)

1:46 “They answer: Nay, but ye (yourselves) were not believers.” (37:29)

1:50 “We had no power over you, but ye were wayward folk.” (37:30)

1:57 “We had no power over you, but ye were wayward folk.” (37:30)

2:04 And the humans will turn to the jinn, questioning.

2:07 The humans will say to the jinn:

2:10 "You, O jinn, used to come to us under the guise of religion and truth."

2:15 "Deceiving us with the most persuasive arguments."

2:18 The jinn will reply:

2:19 "Rather, you yourselves were not believers in the oneness of Allah."

2:23 "We had no authority over you to turn you away from faith."

2:29 "But you, O polytheists, were a people who transgressed against Allah."

2:34 "Exceeding the bounds by committing acts of disobedience to Allah that you had no right to commit."

2:40 “Now the Word of our Lord hath been fulfilled concerning us. Lo! we are about to taste (the doom).” (37:31)

2:44 "We are indeed those who will taste [the punishment]."

2:49 “Thus we misled you. Lo! we were (ourselves) astray.” (37:32)

2:57 "So the punishment of our Lord has become due upon us."

2:59 "We shall indeed taste the punishment, we and you, because of the sins and disobedience we committed in the world."

3:07 "And we led you astray from the path of Allah and faith in Him."

3:11 "We ourselves were astray."

3:15 “Then lo! this day they (both) are sharers in the doom.” (37:33)

3:20 “Lo! thus deal We with the guilty.” (37:34)

3:51 Then We shall make them taste the painful punishment.

3:54 And We shall gather them and their companions in the Fire.

3:59 “For when it was said unto them, There is no Allah save Allah, they were scornful” (37:35)

4:08 And they will say, "Are we to abandon our gods for the sake of a mad poet?"

4:16 “Nay, but he brought the Truth, and he confirmed those sent (before him).” (37:37)

4:24 And these polytheists who disbelieve in Allah,

4:27 In the world, when it was said to them, "Say: There is no god but Allah,"

4:32 They would act arrogantly and refuse to say it.

4:36 And they would say, "Shall we abandon the worship of our gods to follow a mad poet?"

4:43 But they lied; Muhammad (peace be upon him) was not as they described him.

4:47 Rather, he is a Prophet of Allah who brought the Qur'an from Him.

4:52 And he confirmed the messengers who came before him.

4:57 "You are indeed those who will taste the painful punishment."

5:04 “Ye are requited naught save what ye did -” (37:39)

5:11 You, O polytheists, will indeed taste the agonizing punishment in the Hereafter.

5:16 And you will not be recompensed in the Hereafter except for what you used to do in the world of disobedience to Allah.

5:25 Except for the chosen servants of Allah.

5:29 “For them there is a known provision,” (37:41)

5:35 Fruits, and they will be honored.

5:40 In the Gardens of Bliss.

5:44 On thrones, facing one another.

5:49 “A cup from a gushing spring is brought round for them,” (37:45)

5:55 White, delicious to those who drink.

6:01 “Wherein there is no headache nor are they made mad thereby.” (37:47)

6:10 Except for the servants of Allah whom He chose for His mercy the day He created them.

6:15 For they shall not taste the punishment.

6:18 These chosen ones will have a known provision.

6:22 Which is the fruits that Allah has created for them in Paradise.

6:26 And they will be honored with the honor that Allah has bestowed upon them in the Gardens of Bliss.

6:33 On thrones, facing one another.

6:37 Servants will circulate among them with a cup of flowing wine.

6:41 Visible to their eyes, not murky.

6:44 A cup of wine that its drinkers find delicious.

6:49 There is no harm in this wine, nor will it cause them distress in body or mind.

6:55 Nor anything else [of that nature].

6:57 Nor will their minds be clouded by drinking it.

7:02 And with them will be those who restrain their glances.

7:08 As if they were hidden pearls.

7:15 And with these chosen ones in Paradise,

7:18 Are women who restrain their glances for their husbands alone.

7:23 And do not extend their gaze to anyone else.

7:27 With large, beautiful eyes.

7:30 As if they were hidden pearls.

7:32 They are likened in their whiteness to the fact that they have not been touched before their husbands by any human or jinn.

7:39 To the whiteness of the egg that is inside the shell.

7:43 Which is the membrane covering the yolk.

7:46 Before it is touched by a hand or anything else.

7:49 As for the outer shell,

7:51 A bird touches it, and hands handle it.

7:57 “And some of them draw near unto others, mutually questioning.” (37:50)

8:04 “A speaker of them saith: Lo! I had a comrade” (37:51)

8:11 “Who used to say: Art thou in truth of those who put faith (in his words)?” (37:52)

8:17 “Can we, when we are dead and have become mere dust and bones - can we (then) verily be brought to book?” (37:53)

8:26 Then some of the people of Paradise will turn to one another, questioning.

8:31 A speaker among the people of Paradise will say:

8:34 “A speaker of them saith: Lo! I had a comrade” (37:51)

8:36 That companion was a devil.

8:40 That companion used to say to him:

8:43 "Are you indeed among those who believe in the resurrection after death?"

8:47 "When we have died and become dust and bones,"

8:51 "Are we indeed to be held accountable and recompensed?"

8:55 He will say, "Will you look down?"

9:01 So he will look down and see him in the midst of Hell.

9:07 He will say, "By Allah, you almost ruined me."

9:12 “And had it not been for the favour of my Lord, I too had been of those haled forth (to doom).” (37:57)

9:20 This believer who was admitted to Paradise will say to his companions:

9:25 "Will you look down into the Fire?"

9:27 "Perhaps I might see my companion."

9:30 They will say, "Yes."

9:32 So he will look down into the Fire and see him in the middle of Hell.

9:36 He will say to him:

9:37 "By Allah, you almost destroyed me in the world by turning me away from belief in the resurrection."

9:44 "And had it not been for the favor of my Lord in guiding me and granting me success to believe in the resurrection,"

9:50 "I would have been among those brought [to punishment] with you."

9:55 "Are we then not to die?"

9:59 “Saving our former death, and are we not to be punished?” (37:59)

10:05 "Indeed, this is the great success."

10:10 “For the like of this, then, let the workers work.” (37:61)

10:16 "Are we not to die, other than our first death in the world?"

10:21 "And are we not to be punished after entering Paradise?"

10:25 "Indeed, this which Allah has given us of honor in Paradise,"

10:30 "That we shall not be punished and we shall not die,"

10:32 "Is truly the great salvation from what we used to fear in the world regarding the punishment of Allah."

10:39 Allah, the Exalted, says:

10:41 For the likes of this which I have given these believers of honor in the Hereafter,

10:47 Let the workers work in the world for their own souls.

10:51 So that they may attain what these have attained through the obedience of their Lord.

10:56 Is that better as a welcome, or the tree of Zaqqum?

11:02 Indeed, We have made it a trial for the wrongdoers.

11:10 Is this which I have given these believers of My honor in Paradise better?

11:16 Or what I have prepared for the people of the Fire of Zaqqum?

11:20 Indeed, We have made it a trial for these polytheists.

11:24 Who said, "How can trees grow in the Fire?"

11:28 "When the Fire burns trees?"

11:32 “Lo! it is a tree that springeth in the heart of hell.” (37:64)

11:38 “Its crop is as it were the heads of devils” (37:65)

11:43 “And lo! they verily must eat thereof, and fill (their) bellies therewith.” (37:66)

11:52 “Lo! it is a tree that springeth in the heart of hell.” (37:64)

11:55 It is nourished by the Fire, and from it, it was created.

11:59 The fruit of the tree of Zaqqum, in its ugliness and repulsiveness, is like the heads of devils.

12:05 For these polytheists, for whom Allah has made this tree a trial,

12:11 Will be eaters from this tree, which is the tree of Zaqqum.

12:17 Filling their bellies with its Zaqqum.

12:30 “And afterward, lo! their return is surely unto hell.” (37:68)

12:35 They found their fathers astray.

12:44 “But they make haste (to follow) in their footsteps.” (37:70)

12:49 These polytheists, along with what they eat from the tree of Zaqqum,

12:54 Will have a mixture of scalding water.

12:57 Which has been heated until its heat has reached its peak.

13:00 Then their destination is to Hell.

13:03 These polytheists found their fathers astray from the right path.

13:09 So they hasten along their path.

13:13 To follow in their footsteps and their tradition.

13:17 “And verily most of the men of old went astray before them,” (37:71)

13:22 “And verily We sent among them warners.” (37:72)

13:27 So observe how the end of those who were warned was.

13:33 Except for the chosen servants of Allah.

13:38 And indeed, O Muhammad, most of the nations before your people went astray from the right path.

13:45 And We sent among the nations that passed before you warners to warn them of Our might.

13:52 So contemplate and observe how We destroyed those who were warned.

13:55 Except for the servants of Allah whom We chose for faith in Allah and His messengers.

14:02 And Noah called upon Us, and how excellent were the responders.

14:09 “And We saved him and his household from the great distress,” (37:76)

14:15 “And made his seed the survivors,” (37:77)

14:22 The Almighty says:

14:24 Noah called upon Us, asking Us for the destruction of his people.

14:29 And how excellent were We as responders when he called upon Us.

14:33 So We answered his prayer and destroyed his people.

14:37 And We saved him and his family who boarded the ship with him.

14:41 From the harm and distress he was in from the disbelievers.

14:46 And from the agony of the flood and drowning.

14:49 And We made the descendants of Noah those who remained on the earth after the destruction of his people.

14:55 The non-Arabs and the Arabs are from the children of Sam ibn Noah.

14:59 The Turks, the Slavs, and the Khazars are the children of Yafith ibn Noah.

15:04 The Sudanese are the children of Ham ibn Noah.

15:07 This is what the reports have stated and what the scholars have said.

15:12 And We left for him [a favorable mention] among the later generations.

15:16 “Peace be unto Noah among the peoples!” (37:79)

15:22 Indeed, thus do We reward the doers of good.

15:27 He is among Our believing servants.

15:32 Then We drowned the others.

15:40 And We preserved for Noah a beautiful mention and good praise.

15:44 Among those who came after him, they remember him for it.

15:48 A security from Allah for Noah among the worlds that anyone should mention him with evil.

15:54 Indeed, just as We did with Noah as a reward for his obedience to Us,

15:59 So do We reward those who do good and obey Us.

16:03 Noah is among Our servants who believed in Us.

16:07 They affirmed Our oneness and devoted their worship to Us.

16:10 Then We drowned those who remained of his people when We saved Noah and his family from the great distress.
