0:16 In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
0:23 When the sky is cleft asunder.
0:29 And when the stars are scattered.
0:33 And when the seas are made to burst forth.
0:35 And when the graves are overturned.
0:38 “A soul will know what it hath sent before (it) and what left behind.” (82:5)
0:45 When the sky is split apart.
0:47 And when its stars are scattered and fall away.
0:52 And when Allah causes the seas to burst into one another.
0:55 Filling them all up.
0:57 And when the graves are stirred up.
0:59 And those within them are brought forth as living beings.
1:03 Every soul shall know what it has sent forth for that day of righteous deeds that will benefit it.
1:09 And what it left behind of a Sunnah that was subsequently practiced.
1:14 “O man! What hath made thee careless concerning thy Lord, the Bountiful,” (82:6)
1:22 “Who created thee, then fashioned, then proportioned thee?” (82:7)
1:26 “Into whatsoever form He will, He casteth thee.” (82:8)
1:34 O you ungrateful human being.
1:37 What has deceived you concerning your Generous Lord?
1:40 Who created you, O human, and perfected your form.
1:44 And fashioned you in due proportion.
1:45 Meaning, He made your creation balanced, upright, and well-formed.
1:50 Or, He balanced you.
1:51 Meaning, He directed and shaped you into whatever form He willed.
1:55 Whether into a beautiful form.
1:58 Or into an ugly form.
2:00 Or into the likeness of some of your relatives.
2:04 “Nay, but ye deny the Judgment.” (82:9)
2:09 And indeed, there are watchers over you.
2:14 Noble, recording angels.
2:17 They know whatever you do.
2:23 Nay, but you deny the Recompense.
2:24 The matter is not, O disbelievers, as you claim.
2:27 That you are upon the truth in your worship of others besides Allah.
2:31 Rather, you deny the reward and the punishment.
2:35 And the recompense and the reckoning.
2:37 And indeed, there are observers and guardians over you.
2:40 They preserve your deeds and keep an account of them for you.
2:44 Noble in the sight of Allah.
2:46 They record your deeds.
2:48 These guardians know whatever you do, whether it be good or evil.
2:55 Indeed, the righteous will be in bliss.
3:00 “And lo! the wicked verily will be in hell;” (82:14)
3:05 They will enter it on the Day of Recompense.
3:09 And they will not be absent from it.
3:14 And what can make you know what the Day of Recompense is?
3:19 Then, what can make you know what the Day of Recompense is?
3:25 “A day on which no soul hath power at all for any (other) soul. The (absolute) command on that day is Allah's.” (82:19)
3:31 And the command on that day will be entirely with Allah.
3:37 Indeed, those who were righteous by fulfilling the obligations of Allah and avoiding His prohibitions.
3:42 Will be in the bliss of the Gardens, enjoying themselves therein.
3:46 And indeed, the wicked who disbelieved in their Lord will be in a blazing fire.
3:51 These wicked ones will enter the blazing fire on the Day of Resurrection.
3:55 The day when the servants are judged for their deeds and recompensed accordingly.
3:59 And these wicked ones will never be able to depart from the fire, nor will they be absent from it.
4:06 But they will be abiding therein forever.
4:09 And likewise, the righteous will be in bliss.
4:13 And what has made you understand what the Day of Recompense is?
4:15 It asks: What is the nature of the Day of Reckoning and Recompense?
4:20 Magnifying its significance, may His mention be exalted.
4:23 Then, what has made you understand, O Muhammad, what the Day of Recompense is?
4:29 To emphasize its gravity.
4:31 That day.
4:33 A day when no soul shall have power to do anything for another soul.
4:36 To ward off from it any calamity that has befallen it.
4:40 Nor will it be able to benefit it in any way.
4:42 Even though, in the worldly life, it might have protected it and defended it against those who sought to harm it.
4:48 All of that will be rendered void on that day.
4:50 Because the command will belong to Allah, whom no victor can overcome and no oppressor can subdue.
4:56 Kingdoms will vanish there, and authorities will pass away.
5:01 And sovereignty will belong to the King, the Compeller.
5:04 And the entire command on that day will be His, to the exclusion of all His creation.
5:09 No one among His creation will have any command or prohibition alongside Him on that day.
