0:18 In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

0:23 “If Allah were to hasten on for men the ill (that they have earned) as they would hasten on the good, their respite would already have expired. But We suffer those who look not for the meeting with Us to wander blindly on in their contumacy.” (10:11)

0:32 Their appointed time would have been decreed for them.

0:45 If Allah were to hasten the evil for people in response to their prayers,

0:50 That is, in matters that would cause them harm in their persons or wealth,

0:54 Just as He hastens the good for them in response when they call upon Him for it,

1:02 So we call upon those who do not fear Our punishment, nor do they believe in the Resurrection or the gathering.

1:08 They wander blindly in their rebellion and arrogance.

1:13 “And if misfortune touch a man he crieth unto Us, (while reclining) on his side, or sitting or standing, but when We have relieved him of the misfortune he goeth his way as though he had not cried unto Us because of a misfortune that afflicted him. Thus is what they do made (seeming) fair unto the prodigal.” (10:12)

1:51 And when adversity and hardship befall a person,

1:55 He calls upon Us to remove it from him,

1:58 Whether lying on his side, sitting, or standing,

2:02 In whatever state he happens to be when that affliction strikes him.

2:07 But when We remove the hardship that afflicted him,

2:10 He continues on his previous path as if the affliction had never touched him.

2:15 He forgets the hardship and distress he was in, or pretends to forget it,

2:20 And abandons gratitude to his Lord who relieved him.

2:24 Just as this person’s persistence in disbelief after Allah removed his affliction was made to seem fair to him,

2:29 So too was it made to seem fair to those who exceeded all bounds in lying about Allah and His prophets,

2:35 Regarding what they used to do of disobedience to Allah and associating partners with Him.

2:54 We have already destroyed the nations that denied the messengers of Allah before you, O polytheists,

3:01 When they associated partners with Him and disobeyed the command and prohibition of Allah.

3:05 Their messengers came to them from Allah with signs and proofs,

3:10 Which clarified the truth for them with clear evidence.

3:14 Their messengers came to them with clear proofs,

3:17 “We destroyed the generations before you when they did wrong; and their messengers (from Allah) came unto them with clear proofs (of His Sovereignty) but they would not believe. Thus do We reward the guilty folk.” (10:13)

3:23 Which demonstrate the truthfulness of the one who brought them.

3:27 Yet those nations were not such that they would believe in their messengers and accept them as truthful.

3:32 And just as We destroyed those generations before you, O polytheists,

3:37 So too will We do with you; We will destroy you for your associating partners with your Lord,

3:42 For your denial of your Messenger, Muhammad, peace be upon him,

3:47 And for your wrongdoing against your own selves.

3:54 “Then We appointed you viceroys in the earth after them, that We might see how ye behave.” (10:14)

4:08 Then We made you, O people, successors after those generations,

4:13 So that your Lord might see how you act compared to the actions of those nations who perished before you,

4:19 So that you may deserve the same punishment they deserved,

4:23 Or perhaps you will oppose their path and believe in Allah and His Messenger,

4:27 And acknowledge the Resurrection after death,

4:30 Thereby deserving the abundant reward from your Lord.

4:35 And when Our clear verses are recited to them,

4:40 Those who do not expect to meet Us say,

4:45 “And when Our clear revelations are recited unto them, they who look not for the meeting with Us say: Bring a Lecture other than this, or change it. Say (O Muhammad): It is not for me to change it of my accord. I only follow that which is inspired in me. Lo! if I disobey my Lord I fear the retribution of an awful Day.” (10:15)

4:55 “And when Our clear revelations are recited unto them, they who look not for the meeting with Us say: Bring a Lecture other than this, or change it. Say (O Muhammad): It is not for me to change it of my accord. I only follow that which is inspired in me. Lo! if I disobey my Lord I fear the retribution of an awful Day.” (10:15)

5:02 "I only follow what is revealed to me.

5:07 Indeed, I fear, if I should disobey my Lord, the punishment of a tremendous Day."

5:15 And when the verses of the Book of Allah are read to these polytheists,

5:20 Which We have revealed to you, O Muhammad, as clear signs,

5:24 Those who do not fear Our punishment nor believe in the return to Us say,

5:30 "Bring a Qur'an other than this, or change it."

5:34 Say to them, O Muhammad, "It is not for me to change it of my own accord.

5:40 I do not follow, in all that I command you, O people, and forbid you from,

5:46 Except what my Lord reveals to me.

5:49 I fear Allah, if I were to disobey His command and alter the rulings of His Book,

5:55 The punishment of a Day whose terror is great."

6:01 “Say: If Allah had so willed I should not have recited it to you nor would He have made it known to you. I dwelt among you a whole lifetime before it (came to me). Have ye then no sense?” (10:16)

6:11 “Say: If Allah had so willed I should not have recited it to you nor would He have made it known to you. I dwelt among you a whole lifetime before it (came to me). Have ye then no sense?” (10:16)

6:17 Will you not then use your reason?

6:21 Say to them, O Muhammad,

6:23 "If Allah had willed, I would not have recited this Qur'an to you, O people,

6:28 Nor would I have made it known to you.

6:30 For I had lived among you for forty years before I recited it to you."

6:36 Do you not then use your reason that if I were fabricating what was not mine to say,

6:41 I would have fabricated it in my youth,

6:45 And before the time I recited it to you?

6:49 So who is more unjust than one who invents a lie against Allah or denies His verses?

6:58 “Who doeth greater wrong than he who inventeth a lie concerning Allah and denieth His revelations? Lo! the guilty never are successful.” (10:17)

7:05 Say, O Muhammad, to these polytheists,

7:09 "What creation is more transgressive than one who fabricates a lie against Allah,

7:14 Or denies His proofs, His messengers, and the verses of His Book?"

7:19 The accusation you have leveled against me is no more remarkable than your own lying about your Lord.

7:24 Indeed, those who commit disbelief will not succeed in this world on the Day of Resurrection when they meet their Lord,

7:31 Nor will they attain salvation.

7:35 “They worship beside Allah that which neither hurteth them nor profiteth them, and they say: These are our intercessors with Allah. Say: Would ye inform Allah of (something) that He knoweth not in the heavens or in the earth? Praised be He and High Exalted above all that ye associate (with Him)!” (10:18)

7:46 “They worship beside Allah that which neither hurteth them nor profiteth them, and they say: These are our intercessors with Allah. 8:08 Exalted and high is He above what they associate with Him.

8:17 These polytheists worship, O Muhammad, besides Allah,

8:21 That which neither harms them nor benefits them in this world or the Hereafter.

8:27 And they say, "They were worshipping them in the hope of their intercession with Allah."

8:33 Say to them, "Do you inform Allah of something that does not exist in the heavens or on the earth?"

8:40 This is because these deities do not intercede for them with Allah in the heavens or on the earth.

8:46 The polytheists used to claim that they would intercede for them with Allah.

8:51 Rather, Allah knows that this is contrary to what you say, and that they do not intercede for anyone.

8:58 Exalted is Allah, and far above what these polytheists do in fabricating lies against Him.

9:07 “Mankind were but one community; then they differed; and had it not been for a word that had already gone forth from thy Lord it had been judged between them in respect of that wherein they differ.” (10:19)

9:15 “Mankind were but one community; then they differed; and had it not been for a word that had already gone forth from thy Lord it had been judged between them in respect of that wherein they differ.” (10:19)

9:26 Mankind was but one community with one religion,

9:32 Then they differed in their religion, and the paths diverged for them in that regard.

9:37 And had it not been for a word that preceded from Allah that He would not destroy a people until their appointed time had passed,

9:44 It would have been judged between them by destroying the people of falsehood among them and saving the people of truth.

9:52 “And they will say: If only a portent were sent down upon him from his Lord! Then say, (O Muhammad): The Unseen belongeth to Allah. So wait! Lo! I am waiting with you.” (10:20)

10:15 And these polytheists say, "Why has no sign or proof been sent down to Muhammad so that we may know that Muhammad is truthful in what he says?"

10:27 So say, O Muhammad, "No one knows how to do that except Him, for no one knows the unseen and hidden matters except Allah."

10:38 So wait, O people, for the judgment of Allah between us by hastening His punishment for the one among us who is in falsehood,

10:45 And by manifesting the one who is truthful over him; I am with you among those who wait for that.

10:52 “And when We cause mankind to taste of mercy after some adversity which had afflicted them, behold! they have some plot against Our revelations. Say: Allah is more swift in plotting. Lo! Our messengers write down that which ye plot.” (10:21)

11:12 “And when We cause mankind to taste of mercy after some adversity which had afflicted them, behold! they have some plot against Our revelations. Say: Allah is more swift in plotting. Lo! Our messengers write down that which ye plot.” (10:21)

11:23 And when We grant the polytheists relief after distress, they immediately mock and deny Our verses.

11:31 Say to these polytheists, O Muhammad, "Allah is swifter in planning against you, in drawing you on, and in punishing you."

11:41 Indeed, Our messengers whom We send to you, O people, record what you plot against Our verses.

11:50 “He it is Who maketh you to go on the land and the sea till, when ye are in the ships and they sail with them with a fair breeze and they are glad therein, a storm-wind reacheth them and the wave cometh unto them from every side and they deem that they are overwhelmed therein; (then) they cry unto Allah, making their faith pure for Him only: If Thou deliver us from this, we truly will be of the thankful.” (10:22)

12:10 “He it is Who maketh you to go on the land and the sea till, when ye are in the ships and they sail with them with a fair breeze and they are glad therein, a storm-wind reacheth them and the wave cometh unto them from every side and they deem that they are overwhelmed therein; (then) they cry unto Allah, making their faith pure for Him only: If Thou deliver us from this, we truly will be of the thankful.” (10:22)

13:00 Until, when you are in ships and they sail with the people on a favorable wind in the sea, and the passengers of the ship rejoice at the favorable wind by which they are traveling,

13:12 And a wave comes to them from every side, and they think that destruction has encompassed them, they call upon Allah with sincere devotion, excluding their idols and deities,

13:24 "If You save us from this distress, we will surely be among the grateful to You for Your blessings by dedicating our worship to You alone, excluding the deities."

13:56 “Yet when He hath delivered them, behold! they rebel in the earth wrongfully. O mankind! Your rebellion is only against yourselves. (Ye have) enjoyment of the life of the world; then unto Us is your return and We shall proclaim unto you what ye used to do.” (10:23)

14:09 But when Allah saves those who thought in the sea that they were encompassed, they break their promise to Allah and commit injustice upon the earth.

14:20 They transgress therein in ways other than what Allah has permitted them, through disbelief and the commission of His acts of disobedience.

14:28 O people, your transgression is only against your own selves.

14:34 This which you are in is a provision you enjoy in your fleeting worldly life,

14:40 Then to Us is your return after that,

14:44 And We will inform you on the Day of Resurrection of what you used to do in the world of disobedience to Allah,

14:50 Concerning the deeds you have committed.

14:55 “The similitude of the life of the world is only as water which We send down from the sky, then the earth's growth of that which men and cattle eat mingleth with it till, when the earth hath taken on her ornaments and is embellished, and her people deem that they are masters of her, Our commandment cometh by night or by day and We make it as reaped corn as if it had not flourished yesterday. Thus do we expound the revelations for people who reflect.” (10:24)

15:11 “The similitude of the life of the world is only as water which We send down from the sky, then the earth's growth of that which men and cattle eat mingleth with it till, when the earth hath taken on her ornaments and is embellished, and her people deem that they are masters of her, Our commandment cometh by night or by day and We make it as reaped corn as if it had not flourished yesterday. Thus do we expound the revelations for people who reflect.” (10:24)

15:21 Until, when the earth has taken on its adornment and is beautified,

15:33 “The similitude of the life of the world is only as water which We send down from the sky, then the earth's growth of that which men and cattle eat mingleth with it till, when the earth hath taken on her ornaments and is embellished, and her people deem that they are masters of her, Our commandment cometh by night or by day and We make it as reaped corn as if it had not flourished yesterday. Thus do we expound the revelations for people who reflect.” (10:24)

15:46 We make it a harvest, as if it had not flourished the day before. Thus do We explain the signs for a people who give thought.

16:00 The likeness of what you boast of in the world and take pride in, of its adornment and wealth,

16:09 Along with what is entrusted to it of disturbance and distress,

16:11 Is like rain which We send down from the sky to the earth,

16:17 And there grows by that rain various types of plants, intermingled with one another,

16:23 Until when the beauty and splendor of the earth appear and it is adorned,

16:29 And the people of the earth think that they have power over what it has produced,

16:33 Our command comes to the earth, destroying what is upon it of vegetation,

16:37 Either by night or by day,

16:41 So We make what is upon it cut down, uprooted from its foundations,

16:45 As if those crops and plants had not been growing and standing on the earth just the day before.

16:53 Just as We have explained to you, O people, the likeness of the world,

16:57 So do We explain Our proofs and evidences for those who reflect and take heed.

17:05 “And Allah summoneth to the abode of peace, and leadeth whom He will to a straight path.” (10:25)

17:09 And He guides whom He wills.

17:13 “And Allah summoneth to the abode of peace, and leadeth whom He will to a straight path.” (10:25)

17:23 O people, do not seek the world and its adornment,

17:27 For its end is destruction and passing away.

17:31 But seek the everlasting Hereafter,

17:35 For Allah invites you to His abode,

17:39 Which is the Paradise He has prepared for His allies,

17:43 From among His creation, and He grants them success in finding the straight path,

17:47 Which is Islam, which He has made a means to reach His pleasure.
