0:18 In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

0:22 “The commandment of Allah will come to pass, so seek not ye to hasten it. Glorified and Exalted be He above all that they associate (with Him).” (16:1)

0:27 Exalted and high is He above what they associate with Him.

0:35 The command of Allah has come, meaning the Hour is near.

0:38 And your punishment has arrived.

0:40 It has drawn near and approached you, O people.

0:43 So do not seek to hasten its occurrence.

0:46 Declaring Allah free from and exalted above the polytheism that the Quraysh practiced.

1:58 No partner shared with Him in their origination and bringing into existence.

2:02 [He calls] you, O people, away from your polytheism and your claims to [false deities].

2:08 “He hath created man from a drop of fluid, yet behold! he is an open opponent.” (16:4)

2:25 Then He brought him out into the light of the world after his creation was completed.

2:40 He manifests his hostility through his speech and argues with his tongue.

2:46 And the grazing livestock, He created them.

2:49 “And the cattle hath He created, whence ye have warm clothing and uses, and whereof ye eat;” (16:5)

2:57 Among His proofs against you, O people,

3:00 Is what He created for you of the livestock.

3:02 He subjected them to your service.

3:04 And He provided you from their wool, their fur, and their hair

3:08 With clothing that provides you warmth.

3:10 And benefits from their milk.

3:13 And their backs, which you ride.

3:15 And from the livestock, there are those whose meat you eat,

3:18 Such as camels, cattle, and sheep,

3:21 And all other animals whose meat is lawful to eat.

3:24 “And wherein is beauty for you, when ye bring them home, and when ye take them out to pasture.” (16:6)

3:32 And you find beauty in these livestock when you bring them home in the evening

3:37 From their pastures to the shelters where they reside.

3:42 And at the time you drive them out in the morning from their pens to their pastures.

3:49 “And they bear your loads for you unto a land ye could not reach save with great trouble to yourselves. Lo! your Lord is Full of Pity, Merciful.” (16:7)

3:54 Except with great difficulty.

3:58 Indeed, your Lord is Kind and Merciful.

4:05 These livestock carry your heavy loads to another land

4:09 That you would not be able to reach except with great exertion of yourselves.

4:14 Indeed, your Lord, O people, is full of kindness and mercy toward you,

4:19 So that you may thank Him for His favors upon you.

4:23 “And horses and mules and asses (hath He created) that ye may ride them, and for ornament. And He createth that which ye know not.” (16:8)

4:28 “And horses and mules and asses (hath He created) that ye may ride them, and for ornament. And He createth that which ye know not.” (16:8)

4:33 And He created horses, mules, and donkeys for you as well, so that you may ride them.

4:38 And He made them an adornment for you to beautify yourselves.

4:42 And your Lord creates that which you do not know,

4:44 Of what is prepared in Paradise for its people and in the Fire for its people,

4:49 Things that no eye has seen and no ear has heard,

4:53 And which have never crossed the heart of any human.

4:57 And upon Allah is the [clarification of the] path, and among them are those that deviate.

5:04 “And Allah's is the direction of the way, and some (roads) go not straight. And had He willed He would have led you all aright.” (16:9)

5:11 Upon Allah, O people, rests the clarification of the path of truth for you,

5:15 And the straight path that has no crookedness.

5:19 And among the paths are those that have diverged from His way,

5:22 Such as Judaism, Christianity, and other religions of disbelief.

5:28 And had Allah willed, He would have guided all of you, O people, by His grace,

5:33 So you would have been guided, adhered to the straight path, and not deviated from it.

5:40 It is He who sends down rain from the sky.

5:48 “He it is Who sendeth down water from the sky, whence ye have drink, and whence are trees on which ye send your beasts to pasture.” (16:10)

5:58 And the One who has bestowed these blessings upon you

6:01 Is the Lord who sends down rain from the sky for you.

6:05 From that water, you have drink to consume.

6:08 And from it is the drink for your trees.

6:11 And among the trees that grow from the water He sends down from the sky, you graze [your livestock].

6:18 “Therewith He causeth crops to grow for you, and the olive and the date-palm and grapes and all kinds of fruit. Lo! herein is indeed a portent for people who reflect.” (16:11)

6:26 “Therewith He causeth crops to grow for you, and the olive and the date-palm and grapes and all kinds of fruit. Lo! herein is indeed a portent for people who reflect.” (16:11)

6:38 Your Lord causes your crops, olives, date palms, and grapevines to grow for you,

6:44 And from all fruits, other than that, as provisions and sustenance for you.

6:49 Indeed, in Allah’s bringing forth [sustenance] through what He sends down from the sky

6:53 Is a clear sign for a people who accept the admonitions of Allah

6:58 And reflect upon His proofs.

7:01 “And He hath constrained the night and the day and the sun and the moon to be of service unto you, and the stars are made subservient by His command. Lo! herein indeed are portents for people who have sense.” (16:12)

7:07 And the stars are subjected by His command.

7:13 Indeed, in that are signs for a people who use their intellect.

7:22 And among His favors upon you, O people,

7:25 Is that He subjected the night and the day to alternate for you.

7:30 The former is for your livelihood, and the latter is for your rest.

7:35 And the sun and the moon [are for] knowing your times.

7:39 And the stars are subjected for you by the command of Allah, moving in their orbits.

7:45 “And He it is Who hath set for you the stars that ye may guide your course by them amid the darkness of the land and the sea. We have detailed Our revelations for a people who have knowledge.” (6:97)

7:49 Indeed, in Allah’s subjecting all that He has subjected

7:52 Are clear signs for a people who understand the proofs of Allah.

7:58 “And whatsoever He hath created for you in the earth of divers hues, lo! therein is indeed a portent for people who take heed.” (16:13)

8:03 “And whatsoever He hath created for you in the earth of divers hues, lo! therein is indeed a portent for people who take heed.” (16:13)

8:12 And He subjected for you what He created for you of animals of various colors,

8:18 And of trees and fruits.

8:20 “And whatsoever He hath created for you in the earth of divers hues, lo! therein is indeed a portent for people who take heed.” (16:13)

8:52 And the One who did these things for you

8:55 Is the One who subjected the sea for you,

8:57 Which includes every river, whether its water is salty or fresh.

9:02 “And He it is Who hath constrained the sea to be of service that ye eat fresh meat from thence, and bring forth from thence ornaments which ye wear. And thou seest the ships ploughing it that ye (mankind) may seek of His bounty and that haply ye may give thanks.” (16:14)

9:04 And it is the fish.

9:06 “And He it is Who hath constrained the sea to be of service that ye eat fresh meat from thence, and bring forth from thence ornaments which ye wear. And thou seest the ships ploughing it that ye (mankind) may seek of His bounty and that haply ye may give thanks.” (16:14)

9:10 And it is the pearls and coral.

9:12 And you see the ships in those seas cleaving the water with their prows.

9:17 That is, they pierce it as they split the water with their prows.

9:22 And so that you may move about in search of your livelihood through trade,

9:26 And so that you may thank your Lord for what He has bestowed upon you of that.

9:32 And He cast into the earth firm mountains, lest it shake with you.

9:37 “And He hath cast into the earth firm hills that it quake not with you, and streams and roads that ye may find a way.” (16:15)

9:46 And among His favors upon you, O people, also,

9:50 Is that He placed stable mountains in the earth,

9:53 So that it does not sway with you.

9:55 And He made rivers therein.

9:58 And He made for you paths that you may travel,

10:01 And move about in them for your needs,

10:04 So that you may be guided by these paths to the places you intend,

10:09 So that you do not go astray or become confused.

10:13 And landmarks.

10:16 And by the stars they are guided.

10:21 And He made for you, O people, landmarks and signs for the roads,

10:25 By which you find your way during the day on your travels and journeys.

10:30 And He made for you stars by which you are guided at night on your paths.

10:36 “Is He then Who createth as him who createth not? Will ye not then remember?” (16:17)

10:40 Will you not then remember?

10:44 “And if ye would count the favour of Allah ye cannot reckon it. Lo! Allah is indeed Forgiving, Merciful.” (16:18)

10:50 “And if ye would count the favour of Allah ye cannot reckon it. Lo! Allah is indeed Forgiving, Merciful.” (16:18)

10:57 Is then He who creates these wondrous creatures like one who creates nothing?

11:03 Will you not then remember the favors of Allah upon you?

11:06 And if you should count the favor of Allah, you would not be able to fulfill the gratitude for it.

11:11 Indeed, Allah is Forgiving of the shortcomings you may have had in thanking Him for some of that, if you repent.

11:19 He is Merciful toward you, [refraining from] punishing you after you have turned back in repentance.

11:25 “And Allah knoweth that which ye keep hidden and that which ye proclaim.” (16:19)

11:31 And Allah, who is your God, O people,

11:35 Knows what you conceal within yourselves, hiding it from others,

11:40 And what you declare with your tongues, your limbs, and your actions.

11:45 He is the One who enumerates all of that and will recompense you for it on the Day of Resurrection.

11:51 “Those unto whom they cry beside Allah created naught, but are themselves created.” (16:20)

12:05 And your idols, whom you call upon besides Allah, O people, as gods,

12:10 Do not create anything, while they themselves are created.

12:13 So how can that which is manufactured and managed be a god?

12:17 They possess no power to benefit or harm themselves.

12:22 They are dead, not alive.

12:27 And they do not perceive when they will be resurrected.

12:33 And those whom you call upon besides Allah, O people,

12:37 Are dead, not alive,

12:39 Since they have no souls within them.

12:42 And your idols that you call upon besides Allah do not know when they will be resurrected.

12:47 It has been said that this refers to the disbelievers,

12:51 [Meaning] that they do not know when they will be resurrected.

12:56 Your God is one God.

13:00 “Your Allah is One Allah. But as for those who believe not in the Hereafter their hearts refuse to know, for they are proud.” (16:22)

13:07 “Your Allah is One Allah. But as for those who believe not in the Hereafter their hearts refuse to know, for they are proud.” (16:22)

13:16 Your object of worship, who deserves your worship, is one God.

13:22 As for those who do not believe in the return to Him after death,

13:26 Their hearts deny what has been recounted to them of the power and greatness of Allah.

13:32 And they are arrogant toward singling out Allah for divinity,

13:36 And acknowledging His oneness.

13:40 “Assuredly Allah knoweth that which they keep hidden and that which they proclaim. Lo! He loveth not the proud.” (16:23)

13:48 “Assuredly Allah knoweth that which they keep hidden and that which they proclaim. Lo! He loveth not the proud.” (16:23)

13:55 Truly, Allah knows what these polytheists conceal,

14:00 Of their denial of what we have mentioned of the news in this Surah,

14:04 And what they declare of their disbelief in Allah and their fabrication against Him.

14:09 Indeed, Allah does not love those who are arrogant toward worshipping Him alone,

14:13 And [refuse to] cast aside the gods and rivals they worship besides Him.

14:18 “And when it is said unto them: What hath your Lord revealed? they say: (Mere) fables of the men of old,” (16:24)

14:23 They said, "Legends of the former peoples."

14:28 And when it is said to these polytheists who do not believe in the Hereafter,

14:34 "What has your Lord sent down?"

14:37 They say, "That which was sent down is what the former peoples before us wrote down of falsehoods."

14:44 [They say this] so that they may bear their burdens in full on the Day of Resurrection.

14:50 “That they may bear their burdens undiminished on the Day of Resurrection, with somewhat of the burdens of those whom they mislead without knowledge. Ah! evil is that which they bear!” (16:25)

15:00 Unquestionably, evil is that which they bear.

15:06 So that their sins, upon which they persist, may remain,

15:10 From their denial of Allah and their disbelief in His Messenger, peace be upon him,

15:16 And from the sins of those whom they divert from belief in Allah,

15:20 Leading them astray without knowledge.

15:23 Unquestionably, evil is the sin they commit,

15:26 And the heavy burden they carry.

15:30 Those before them had already plotted.

15:34 “Those before them plotted, so Allah struck at the foundations of their building, and then the roof fell down upon them from above them, and the doom came on them whence they knew not;” (16:26)

16:07 They sought to overcome Allah by a structure they built,

16:11 Intending, by their claim,

16:13 To ascend to the sky to fight those who are in it.

16:17 So the roofs of their houses collapsed upon them,

16:20 When the command of Allah came to their foundations and bases.

16:24 And their dwellings were overturned upon them.

16:27 And the punishment of Allah came upon these plotters

16:31 From where they did not perceive that it had come to them.

16:36 “Then on the Day of Resurrection He will disgrace them and will say: Where are My partners, for whose sake ye opposed (My guidance)? Those who have been given knowledge will say: Disgrace this day and evil are upon the disbelievers,” (16:27)

16:40 And He will say, "Where are My partners?"

16:47 “Then on the Day of Resurrection He will disgrace them and will say: Where are My partners, for whose sake ye opposed (My guidance)? Those who have been given knowledge will say: Disgrace this day and evil are upon the disbelievers,” (16:27)

16:54 Those who were given knowledge will say,

16:57 "Indeed, the disgrace and the evil today are upon the disbelievers."

17:06 Allah did to these plotters what He did by hastening the punishment for them.

17:12 Then, along with that, on the Day of Resurrection, He will disgrace them,

17:16 Humiliating them with a painful punishment.

17:19 And it will be said to them,

17:21 "Where are My partners whom you used to claim in the world?

17:25 Why do they not come to your aid and defend you?"

17:29 For you used to worship them in the world.

17:33 Those who were given knowledge will say,

17:35 "Indeed, the humiliation and disgrace today,

17:37 And the punishment of Allah, are upon the disbelievers."

17:42 “Whom the angels cause to die while they are wronging themselves. Then will they make full submission (saying): We used not to do any wrong. Nay! Surely Allah is Knower of what ye used to do.” (16:28)

17:50 “Whom the angels cause to die while they are wronging themselves. Then will they make full submission (saying): We used not to do any wrong. Nay! Surely Allah is Knower of what ye used to do.” (16:28)

18:07 Those whose souls the angels take in death,

18:10 While they are in their state of disbelief and polytheism toward Allah.

18:13 So they submit to His command and yield to Him,

18:16 When they witness that death has come upon them.

18:20 And they say, "We were not doing any evil."

18:23 But Allah will refute them, saying,

18:25 "Nay, but you were doing evil."

18:28 “Lurk not on every road to threaten (wayfarers), and to turn away from Allah's path him who believeth in Him, and to seek to make it crooked. And remember, when ye were but few, how He did multiply you. And see the nature of the consequence for the corrupters!” (7:86)

18:30 Indeed, Allah is All-Knowing of what you used to do in the world of His disobedience,

18:36 And you used to commit therein that which angers Him.

18:39 “So enter the gates of hell, to dwell therein for ever. Woeful indeed will be the lodging of the arrogant.” (16:29)

18:46 So how wretched is the residence of the arrogant.
