0:31 “Do men imagine that they will be left (at ease) because they say, We believe, and will not be tested with affliction?” (29:2)

0:44 I believe the reference is to those of your Companions, O Muhammad, who left their homes due to the persecution they faced from the polytheists.

0:50 Are we to leave them untested?

0:52 By merely saying, "We have believed in you, O Muhammad,"

0:55 And affirming what you have brought to us from Allah?

0:59 Nay, We shall surely test them,

1:01 So that the truthful among them may be distinguished from the liars.

1:06 And We have certainly tested those before them.

1:11 “Lo! We tested those who were before you. Thus Allah knoweth those who are sincere, and knoweth those who feign.” (29:3)

1:15 And He will surely make known the liars.

1:20 We have indeed tested the nations that came before them,

1:24 Those to whom We sent Our messengers.

1:26 We tried those who followed them with those who turned away from them.

1:30 So that Allah may surely know those among them who were truthful in their declaration, "We have believed."

1:36 And Allah will surely manifest the truthfulness of the sincere among them in their claim of belief in Allah, and the falsehood of the liars among them.

1:45 “Or do those who do ill-deeds imagine that they can outstrip Us? Evil (for them) is that which they decide.” (29:4)

1:58 Do those who associate partners with Allah think they can escape Us, so that they might elude Us by their own power?

2:04 And that We would be unable to reach them and punish them for their polytheism?

2:09 Evil is the judgment they make, thinking they can outstrip Us by their own power.

2:15 “Whoso looketh forward to the meeting with Allah (let him know that) Allah's reckoning is surely nigh, and He is the Hearer, the Knower.” (29:5)

2:29 Whoever hopes for Allah and the Day of Meeting, and aspires for His reward,

2:33 Then the term appointed by Allah for the resurrection of His creation for recompense and punishment is surely coming soon.

2:41 And Allah is the All-Hearing of his declaration, "We have believed in Allah," and the All-Knowing of the sincerity of his statement—whether he truly believed or was lying about it.

2:51 “And whosoever striveth, striveth only for himself, for lo! Allah is altogether Independent of (His) creatures.” (29:6)

3:04 Whoever strives against his enemy among the polytheists, he only strives for his own soul.

3:10 Because he does so seeking the reward from Allah for his struggle and to escape His punishment.

3:17 Allah has no need of his actions, for Allah is independent of all His creation; to Him belongs the dominion, the creation, and the command.

3:27 And those who believe and do righteous deeds, We will surely remove from them their misdeeds and will surely reward them according to the best of what they used to do.

3:47 Those who believe in Allah and His Messenger and perform righteous deeds,

3:52 We will surely remove from them the sins they committed during their time of polytheism.

3:57 And We will surely reward them for their righteous deeds in their Islam with the best of what they used to do during their time of polytheism, while simultaneously pardoning their evil deeds.

4:09 “We have enjoined on man kindness to parents; but if they strive to make thee join with Me that of which thou hast no knowledge, then obey them not. Unto Me is your return and I shall tell you what ye used to do.” (29:8)

4:15 “We have enjoined on man kindness to parents; but if they strive to make thee join with Me that of which thou hast no knowledge, then obey them not. Unto Me is your return and I shall tell you what ye used to do.” (29:8)

4:45 ...about that of which you have no knowledge, seeking to please them; but oppose them in that. To Me is your return and your destination on the Day of Resurrection, and I will inform you of what you used to do in the world—both good deeds and evil—and I will recompense you for them.

5:17 ...and His Messenger, and perform righteous deeds—meaning they fulfill the obligations of Allah and avoid His prohibitions—We will surely admit them into the abode of the righteous, which is Paradise.

5:48 And among the people are those who say, "We have affirmed our belief in Allah," and thus have declared His oneness; but when the polytheists persecute them for their affirmation of Allah,

6:14 They treat the persecution of people against them in this world as if it were the punishment of Allah in the Hereafter, and so they apostatize from their faith in Allah, returning to disbelief in Him.

6:24 And if a victory comes from your Lord, O Muhammad, for those who believe in Him, these people who apostatized from their faith will surely say,

6:33 "We were, O believers, with you, supporting you against your enemies," speaking falsely and deceitfully.

6:41 Is Allah not the most knowing, O people, of what is in the hearts of all His creation?

6:48 How can one deceive Him from whom nothing is hidden, and from whom no secret or public matter is concealed?

6:58 And Allah will surely make known those who believe, and He will surely make known the hypocrites.

7:06 And Allah will surely make known His allies and His party, and He will surely make known the hypocrites,

7:12 By manifesting that through trials, tribulations, and testing.

7:17 “Those who disbelieve say unto those who believe: Follow our way (of religion) and we verily will bear your sins (for you). They cannot bear aught of their sins. Lo! they verily are liars.” (29:12)

7:26 “Those who disbelieve say unto those who believe: Follow our way (of religion) and we verily will bear your sins (for you). They cannot bear aught of their sins. Lo! they verily are liars.” (29:12)

7:37 And those who disbelieve in Allah say, "Follow our path, and we will bear your sins," meaning they call them to the same denial of the resurrection that they themselves hold.

7:45 "For if you follow our path and are resurrected after death and recompensed for your deeds,"

7:53 "Then we will bear the burden of your sins at that time." They lied in that statement they made to them.

8:00 They will not bear any of their sins at all; they are indeed liars in what they said to them and promised them.

8:24 Rather, these polytheists who say to those who believe, "Follow our path and we will bear your sins," shall surely bear

8:35 The burdens of their own selves and their sins, and the burdens of those they led astray and diverted from the path of Allah, along with their own burdens.

8:43 And they will surely be asked on the Day of Resurrection about the falsehoods they used to tell them in the world, promising them vanities and fabricating lies thereby.

9:14 And do not let the harm you and your Companions receive from these polytheists sadden you, O Muhammad.

9:21 For the end of their affair is ruin, and the end of your affair is exaltation, just as We did with Noah.

9:29 When We sent him to his people, and he remained among them for a thousand years less fifty, calling them to monotheism.

9:37 But that only increased them in flight, so the great flood destroyed them while they were wronging themselves through their disbelief.

9:56 So We saved Noah and the companions of the ship—those whom he carried in his ship from his offspring and their spouses.

10:06 And We made the ship in which We saved him and his companions a lesson for the worlds and a proof against them.

10:13 “And Abraham! (Remember) when he said unto his folk: Serve Allah, and keep your duty unto Him; that is better for you if ye did but know.” (29:16)

10:44 That is better for you, if you know what is better for you compared to what is evil for you.

11:16 You only worship, O people, besides Allah, idols, and you invent a lie.

11:26 Your idols that you worship cannot provide you with any provision.

11:32 So seek provision from Allah, be humble before Him, and thank Him for the provision He has given you.

11:38 To Allah you will be returned after your death, and He will ask you about the worship you directed to others besides Him.

11:45 While you are His servants, and you move about in His blessings, and eat of His provision.

12:09 And if you, O people, deny Our Messenger Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him,

12:17 Regarding what he called you to—the worship of your Lord—then nations before you have already denied their messengers.

12:24 So the wrath of Allah befell them; your path is their path if you deny him.

12:31 And there is no duty upon Muhammad except to convey to you the message from Allah.

12:36 The conveyance that clarifies to whoever hears it what is intended by it, and through which one understands what is meant by it.

12:43 “See they not how Allah produceth creation, then reproduceth it? Lo! for Allah that is easy.” (29:19)

13:16 “Say (O Muhammad): Travel in the land and see how He originated creation, then Allah bringeth forth the later growth. Lo! Allah is Able to do all things.” (29:20)

13:35 Say, O Muhammad, to those who deny the resurrection: "Travel through the earth and observe how Allah began the creation and how He originated and brought it into being."

13:46 Then Allah will initiate that final creation after the annihilation; indeed, Allah is capable of creating all His creation after their annihilation.

13:56 And He is capable of whatever else He wills; nothing He intends can frustrate Him.

14:04 “He punisheth whom He will and showeth mercy unto whom He will, and unto Him ye will be turned.” (29:21)

14:16 Then Allah will bring forth His creation after their annihilation, and He will punish whom He wills among them for the crimes they committed during their lives, and have mercy on whom He wills, and to Him you will be returned and brought back.

14:31 “Ye cannot escape (from Him) in the earth or in the sky, and beside Allah there is for you no friend or helper.” (29:22)

14:47 Neither the inhabitants of the earths can frustrate Him on the earth, nor the inhabitants of the heavens in the heavens, if they disobey Him.

14:57 And if someone were to say that the meaning is "You cannot frustrate Him on earth, nor would you be able to frustrate Him if you were in the heavens," that would be a valid interpretation.

15:08 And you, O people, have no protector besides Allah to manage your affairs, nor any helper to aid you against Allah if His punishment befalls you.

15:19 And those who disbelieve in the signs of Allah and the meeting with Him—those have despaired of My mercy, and those will have a painful punishment.

15:38 Those who disbelieve in the proofs of Allah and deny the meeting with Him—those have despaired of My mercy in the Hereafter when they witness what has been prepared for them of punishment, and those will have a grievous punishment.

15:53 “But the answer of his folk was only that they said: "Kill him" or "Burn him." Then Allah saved him from the Fire. Lo! herein verily are portents for folk who believe.” (29:24)

16:14 The only answer of the people of Abraham to him was that some said to others, "Kill him or burn him with fire." So they did; they intended to burn him with fire, so they kindled a fire for him and threw him into it.

16:31 But Allah saved him from it and did not give it power over him; rather, He made it cool and peaceful for him. Indeed, in that salvation of Abraham from the fire are signs and proofs for a people who believe in signs and proofs when they witness and see them.

16:49 “He said: Ye have chosen only idols instead of Allah. The love between you is only in the life of the world. Then on the Day of Resurrection ye will deny each other and curse each other, and your abode will be the Fire, and ye will have no helpers.” (29:25)

17:40 Then on the Day of Resurrection, some of you will disown others and curse others, and the destination of all of you will be the Fire, and you, O people who have taken these gods, will have no helpers to aid you against Allah when He casts you into the fire of Hell.
