0:19 In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

0:22 Woe to those who give less than due.

0:26 “Those who when they take the measure from mankind demand it full,” (83:2)

0:33 “But if they measure unto them or weight for them, they cause them loss.” (83:3)

0:39 It is the valley of the pus flowing from the inhabitants of Hell, located at its lowest depths.

0:44 For those who diminish the rights of people and cheat them in their measures when they measure for them.

0:51 Or their scales when they weigh for them.

0:54 Withholding the full measure that is due to them.

0:57 Those who, when they take a measure from people for a right they are owed.

1:02 They demand it in full, receiving their due measure completely.

1:06 Yet when they measure or weigh for others, they give them less than what is due.

1:11 “Do such (men) not consider that they will be raised again” (83:4)

1:20 For a momentous Day.

1:22 “The day when (all) mankind stand before the Lord of the Worlds?” (83:6)

1:29 Do these defrauders of people in their measures and scales not think?

1:36 That they will be resurrected from their graves after their death?

1:40 For a Day whose affair is momentous, whose matter is grave, and whose terror is horrific.

1:45 “Nay, but the record of the vile is in Sijjin -” (83:7)

1:53 “Ah! what will convey unto thee what Sijjin is! -” (83:8)

1:57 A written record.

2:01 Woe, that Day, to the deniers.

2:07 “Those who deny the Day of Judgment” (83:11)

2:11 “Which none denieth save each criminal transgressor,” (83:12)

2:17 When Our verses are recited to him, he says, "Legends of the former peoples."

2:24 No, the matter is not as these disbelievers think—that they will not be resurrected or punished.

2:33 Indeed, the record of their deeds, in which their worldly actions were inscribed, is in Sijjin.

2:41 Which is the seventh, lowest earth.

2:44 And what can make you know, O Muhammad, what that record is?

2:48 Then the Almighty, whose mention is exalted, explained it, saying:

2:52 A written record.

2:54 Woe, that Day, to those who deny these verses.

2:58 Those who deny the Day of Recompense and Judgment.

3:02 And none denies the Day of Judgment except every transgressor.

3:06 Who transgresses against Allah in his speech and opposes His command.

3:10 Sinful toward his Lord.

3:12 When Our proofs and evidences, which We clarified in Our Book, are recited to him.

3:18 The Book which We sent down to Muhammad, peace be upon him.

3:22 He says, "These are but the tales of the ancients," which they wrote down from hadiths and reports.

3:28 “Nay, but that which they have earned is rust upon their hearts.” (83:14)

3:37 “Nay, but surely on that day they will be covered from (the mercy of) their Lord.” (83:15)

3:45 Indeed, they will be cast into Hell.

3:51 It will be said, "This is what you used to deny."

3:58 No, the matter is not as they claim.

4:02 Rather, their sins have stained their hearts, overcoming and engulfing them.

4:08 Their sins have surrounded them and covered them.

4:11 The matter is not as these deniers of the Day of Resurrection say.

4:16 That they have a position of closeness with Allah.

4:19 Indeed, on that Day, they will be veiled from their Lord, so they will not see Him.

4:24 Nor will they see any of His honor reaching them.

4:28 Then, they will surely enter Hell and be roasted therein.

4:33 Then it will be said to these deniers of the Day of Judgment:

4:37 "This punishment that you are in today,"

4:40 "Is the punishment that you used to claim in the world you would taste."

4:46 While you were denying it and rejecting it.

4:49 "So taste it now, for you have been scorched by it."

4:53 No, indeed, the record of the righteous is in 'Illiyyun.

5:01 And what can make you know what 'Illiyyun is?

5:05 A written record.

5:09 Witnessed by those brought near.

5:13 No, indeed, the record of the righteous—those who were dutiful to Allah by performing His obligations and avoiding His prohibitions—

5:22 Is in a place of loftiness and elevation.

5:24 In a heaven above a heaven, and a height above a height.

5:29 And what can make you know, O Muhammad, what 'Illiyyun is?

5:33 A written record, containing a guarantee from Allah for them against the Fire on the Day of Resurrection and their success in entering Paradise.

5:41 This record, written with Allah’s guarantee for the righteous among His servants against the Fire and for their success in Paradise, is witnessed by:

5:48 The angels brought near to Him from every one of the seven heavens.

5:54 Indeed, the righteous will be in bliss.

6:00 On thrones, observing.

6:05 You will recognize in their faces the radiance of bliss.

6:12 They will be given to drink of a pure, sealed wine.

6:16 The seal of which is musk.

6:19 “Whose seal is musk - for this let (all) those strive who strive for bliss -” (83:26)

6:24 And its mixture is from Tasnim.

6:29 “A spring whence those brought near (to Allah) drink.” (83:28)

6:35 Indeed, the righteous—those who were dutiful by fearing Allah and performing His obligations—

6:42 Will be in everlasting bliss that does not cease on the Day of Resurrection.

6:47 That is their bliss in the Gardens.

6:50 On couches within pavilions of pearl and chrysolite.

6:54 Looking at the honor, bliss, and joy that Allah has granted them in the Gardens.

7:00 You will recognize in the righteous, whom Allah has described, the radiance of bliss.

7:06 Meaning its beauty, luster, and brilliance.

7:10 They are given this pure wine, unadulterated.

7:15 Its end and final result is musk, for it is pleasant in scent.

7:20 Its scent at the end of their drinking is sealed with the fragrance of musk.

7:25 And in this bliss, which the Almighty has described as what He gives these righteous ones in the Resurrection,

7:33 Let people strive for it, and toward it let them compete in seeking it.

7:38 Let their souls be eager for it; and the mixture of this pure wine—

7:42 Is from a spring that descends upon them from above.

7:47 Those brought near to Allah drink it pure, and it is mixed for the people of Paradise.

7:53 “Lo! the guilty used to laugh at those who believed,” (83:29)

8:03 “And wink one to another when they passed them;” (83:30)

8:08 “And when they returned to their own folk, they returned jesting;” (83:31)

8:15 And when they saw them, they said, "Indeed, these are astray."

8:22 “Yet they were not sent as guardians over them.” (83:33)

8:29 Indeed, those who committed sins and disbelieved in Allah in the world,

8:35 Used to laugh at those who affirmed the oneness of Allah and believed in Him.

8:41 Mocking them.

8:44 And when those who committed crimes passed by the believers,

8:49 Some of them would wink at others in mockery and derision.

8:54 And when these criminals returned to their families from their gatherings,

9:00 They returned feeling delighted and self-satisfied.

9:03 And when the criminals saw the believers, they said to them:

9:07 "Indeed, these are astray from the path of truth and the straight way."

9:12 Yet these disbelievers were not sent—

9:15 Those who say to the believers, "Indeed, these are astray"—

9:19 As guardians over their deeds.

9:22 They were only tasked with believing in Allah and acting in obedience to Him.

9:27 And they were not made overseers over others,

9:30 To watch over their deeds and scrutinize them.

9:54 So on the Day of Resurrection, those who believed in Allah in the world,

9:58 Will laugh at the disbelievers.

10:00 While they are on their thrones in the pavilions,

10:03 Looking at them while they are in Paradise,

10:06 And the disbelievers are being punished in the Fire.

10:09 Have the disbelievers been rewarded for what they used to do in the world to the believers?

10:15 By their mockery of them and their laughter at them,

10:19 With the laughter of the believers at them in the Hereafter?
