0:22 “Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection;” (75:1)

0:25 “Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true).” (75:2)

0:30 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones?

0:37 Yes, We are able to reconstruct his very fingertips.

0:43 Rather, man wishes to continue in his wickedness.

0:49 Allah swears by the Day of Resurrection,

0:52 And by the self-reproaching soul,

1:01 Does the son of Adam think that We are unable to gather his bones after they have scattered?

1:06 Yes, We are capable of even more than that;

1:10 We are able to reconstruct his fingertips,

1:12 Meaning the fingers of his hands and feet.

1:15 Had We made them a single mass, like the hoof of a camel or a donkey,

1:20 He would not be able to take his food except with his mouth, like other beasts.

1:26 But He separated the fingers of his hands so he may take with them,

1:30 And grasp, hold, and release as he wishes.

1:33 Thus, He perfected his creation.

1:35 It is not that the son of Adam is ignorant that his Lord is able to gather his bones,

1:41 But he wishes to continue forward in his disobedience to Allah,

1:46 With nothing to deter him from it,

1:48 Never repenting, but constantly delaying his repentance.

1:52 “He asketh: When will be this Day of Resurrection?” (75:6)

1:57 So when the sight is dazzled,

2:00 And the moon is eclipsed,

2:02 And the sun and the moon are joined,

2:06 “On that day man will cry: Whither to flee!” (75:10)

2:12 No! There is no refuge.

2:14 “Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day.” (75:12)

2:19 “On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind.” (75:13)

2:28 The son of Adam, who persists in his disobedience to Allah, asks,

2:33 "When is the Day of Resurrection?"

2:35 Seeking to delay his repentance.

2:38 But when he is terrified by death,

2:40 And the light of the moon vanishes,

2:42 And the sun and moon are joined in the loss of their light,

2:46 So that neither of them has any light left,

2:49 Man will say when he witnesses the horrors of the Day of Resurrection,

2:53 "Where is the escape from the terror that has descended?"

2:57 No! There is no escape here that will benefit its seeker,

3:01 For his flight will not save him,

3:04 Nor is there any fortress, mountain, or stronghold to which he can turn,

3:09 From the decree of Allah that has arrived.

3:12 To your Lord, O man, on that day is the final destination.

3:17 He is the One who settles all His creation in their final abode.

3:21 Man will be informed, on the day the sun and moon are joined and folded up,

3:26 Of everything he sent forth of good or evil during his life,

3:32 And what he left behind of a good or bad Sunnah.

3:36 “Oh, but man is a telling witness against himself,” (75:14)

3:42 Even if he presents his excuses.

3:45 Rather, man has observers within himself who watch his deeds,

3:53 And bear witness against him, even if he offers excuses.

3:56 “Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it.” (75:16)

4:01 Indeed, upon Us is its collection and its recitation.

4:06 So when We have recited it, follow its recitation.

4:10 “Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof.” (75:19)

4:17 The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him,

4:20 Used to move his lips when the Qur'an was revealed to him.

4:24 So Allah said, "Do not move your tongue with the Qur'an, O Muhammad, to hasten it.

4:30 Indeed, upon Us is the collection of this Qur'an in your heart, O Muhammad,

4:35 So that We may fix it therein.

4:37 And its recitation, so that you may recite it after We have collected it in your heart.

4:42 So when it is recited to you, act upon it,

4:45 Regarding its commands and prohibitions,

4:47 And follow what you have been commanded."

4:50 “Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now” (75:20)

4:54 And you neglect the Hereafter.

4:58 The matter is not as you say, O people,

5:01 That you will not be resurrected after your death,

5:04 And will not be recompensed for your deeds.

5:07 Rather, what prompted you to say that

5:10 Is your love for the fleeting worldly life,

5:13 And your preference for its desires over the eternal Hereafter and its bliss.

5:18 So you believe in the immediate and deny the ultimate.

5:23 Some faces, that Day, will be radiant,

5:29 Looking at their Lord.

5:32 And some faces, that Day, will be contorted.

5:38 “Thou wilt know that some great disaster is about to fall on them.” (75:25)

5:44 Faces on the Day of Resurrection will be beautiful and bright from the bliss,

5:49 And they will look at their Lord.

5:51 And other faces will be changed in color, blackened, and grim,

5:57 Knowing that a calamity is about to befall them.

6:00 “Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat” (75:26)

6:05 And it is said, "Is there any enchanter?"

6:09 And he realizes that it is the separation,

6:15 And the leg is wound about the leg.

6:19 “Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving.” (75:30)

6:25 The matter is not as these polytheists think,

6:29 That they will not be punished for their shirk and their disobedience to their Lord.

6:34 Rather, when the soul of one of them reaches the collarbones,

6:37 At the time of his death, as he struggles to breathe,

6:40 His family says,

6:42 "Is there an enchanter who can heal him and cure him of what has befallen him?"

6:46 They seek doctors and healers for him,

6:49 But they cannot avail him anything against the decree of Allah that has arrived.

6:54 And the one who is dying becomes certain

6:57 That it is the separation from the world, family, wealth, and children.

7:01 And the leg of the world is joined with the leg of the Hereafter.

7:05 This is the intensity of the agony of death and the severity of the terror of what is to come.

7:10 To your Lord, O Muhammad, on the day the leg is joined with the leg, is the driving.

7:15 “For he neither trusted, nor prayed.” (75:31)

7:19 But he denied and turned away.

7:24 “Then went he to his folk with glee.” (75:33)

7:29 Woe to you, and woe!

7:32 “Again nearer unto thee and nearer (is the doom).” (75:35)

7:37 He did not believe in the Book of Allah,

7:40 Nor did he perform prayer for Him.

7:42 But he denied the Book of Allah,

7:45 And turned away, abandoning obedience to Allah.

7:48 Then he went to his family, walking with a swagger.

7:54 A warning from Allah upon a warning.

7:57 Does man think that he will be left neglected?

8:05 Had he not been a drop of emitted semen?

8:12 Then he was a clinging clot, and He created and fashioned him.

8:18 “And made of him a pair, the male and female.” (75:39)

8:24 “Is not He (Who doeth so) Able to bring the dead to life?” (75:40)

8:32 Does this human who denies Allah think he will be left aimlessly,

8:39 Meaning, neither commanded, nor forbidden, nor held accountable for his worship?

8:44 Was this denier not a small drop of fluid in the man's loins, from emitted semen?

8:52 Then he was a clot, and Allah created him as a human.

8:56 Then He fashioned him into a balanced human being.

8:59 So He made from this human, after He fashioned him into a balanced creation,

9:04 Is not the One who did that capable of bringing the dead to life?

9:09 So He brings them into existence just as they were before their death.
