0:03 Conclusion from Al-Tabari’s interpretation
0:08 It was summarized by Dr. Aqeel bin Salem Al-Shammar
0:12 Surah Al-A'raf
0:17 In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
0:22 Write good deeds for us in this world
0:28 And in the Hereafter, We have guided you to you
0:33 He said: My torment befalls whomever I wish
0:39 And My mercy encompasses everything
0:43 I will write it for those who fear
0:47 And they pay zakat
0:52 And those who believe in Our signs
0:58 And make us among those for whom good deeds are written in this world
1:04 And in the afterlife, he will be forgiven for his sins
1:09 We repent to you
1:12 God said to Moses
1:14 This is what afflicted your people with the tremor
1:17 My torment inflicts on whomever I wish of My creation
1:21 My mercy encompasses all of my creation
1:24 So I will write My mercy on the tablet on which the Torah was written
1:28 For people who fear God
1:31 They perform His duties and avoid sin
1:35 And they pay zakat
1:37 And for the people who believe and acknowledge our knowledge and evidence
1:43 Those who follow the Messenger, the illiterate Prophet
1:51 Which they find written
1:55 Which they find written in the Torah and the Gospel
2:03 He commands them to do good and forbids them to do evil
2:09 And good things are lawful for them
2:15 It is forbidden for them to hide
2:24 He removes their burden from them
2:29 And the shackles that were on them
2:33 Those who believed in him, honored him, and supported him
2:38 And follow the light that was sent down with him
2:46 Those are the successful ones
2:51 Those who follow the Messenger, the illiterate Prophet, who is Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace
2:59 Whose description, command, and prophecy they find written with them
3:04 This illiterate prophet commands his followers to do good
3:09 It is faith in God and the necessity of obeying Him in what He commands and prohibits
3:14 He forbids them from the evil, which is associating others with God
3:18 And good things are permissible for them, including Al-Bahair, Al-Sawaib, Al-Wasail, and Al-Haami
3:25 They are forbidden from eating pork and usury
3:30 And what they used to consider permissible in terms of restaurants and drinks
3:34 The illiterate prophet lays down the covenant that God had given to the children of Israel
3:40 From establishing the Torah and performing the severe deeds that it contains
3:45 Such as cutting off urine from the skin and prohibiting spoils
3:50 And other acts that were imposed on them
3:54 So it was abrogated by the ruling of the Qur’an
3:57 He removes from them the shackles that God placed on them in His saying
4:02 Their hands were tied
4:04 Those who believed in the illiterate Prophet
4:07 They revered him, venerated him, and protected him from the people
4:12 They helped him against the enemies of God and His enemies with their jihad
4:17 They followed the Qur’an and the Islam that was revealed with it
4:21 who do these actions
4:24 They are the successful ones who realize what they asked for and hoped for by doing so
4:31 Say, O people, that I am the Messenger of God to all of you, to whom belongs the kingdom of the heavens
4:41 To Him belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth
4:45 There is no god but Him who gives life and causes death
4:51 So they believed in God and His Messenger, the unlettered Prophet who believes in God
5:00 Who believes in God and His words
5:04 And follow him that you may be guided
5:09 Say, O Muhammad, to all people
5:13 I am the Messenger of God to all of you
5:16 He who has authority over the heavens and the earth and all that is in them
5:21 Managing and disposing of it
5:23 Deity and worship should be none other than Him
5:28 And He is capable, if He wills, of creating everything He wills, of reviving it, and of annihilating it if He wills
5:35 So they believed in the signs of God
5:38 And they believed in His Messenger Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace
5:42 The illiterate prophet who believes in God and His words
5:47 So, people, be guided by him and do what he commanded you
5:51 So that you may be guided and attain the truth by following it
5:57 And among the people of Moses were a nation who were guided by the truth and were just with it
6:07 Among the people of Moses were a group guided by the truth
6:12 So they stand up to it and work
6:15 In truth, they give and take
6:18 They are fair to themselves and are not unjust
6:23 And We divided them into twelve tribes and nations
6:30 And We revealed to Moses when his people asked him for water, “Strike the stone with your staff.”
6:38 Then twelve springs gushed from it
6:43 All people have known their drinking-place
6:48 And We misled them with clouds
6:51 And We sent down to them manna and quails
6:57 Eat of the good things We have provided for you
7:02 They did not wrong us, but they were wronging themselves
7:11 We divided the people of Moses
7:13 So We made them into twelve tribes
7:16 Asaba groups
7:18 And We revealed to Moses when We divided the Children of Israel and caused them to wander in the wilderness
7:24 So they gave Moses drink of thirst
7:27 Hit the stone with your stick
7:29 Then twelve springs of water poured out of the stone
7:34 Each of the people of the twelve tribes has known their drinking places
7:40 And we shaded them with clouds
7:42 They are protected from the heat and harm of the sun
7:45 And We sent down to them manna and quails as food for them
7:49 And we told them
7:51 Eat from what we have provided for you, people
7:55 They did not bring any deficiency in our kingdom or authority by asking what they asked
8:02 But they themselves were diminishing its status by replacing the lower with the good
8:08 And the meanest with the best
8:11 And when it was said to him, “Dwell in this town and eat from it wherever you wish.”
8:19 Eat from it wherever you want, say “hatta” and enter the door
8:27 And enter the gate prostrate, We will forgive you your sins
8:35 We will increase the benefactors
8:40 Also remember, O Muhammad, what a mistake these people did
8:46 When God told them
8:48 They lived in the village of Beit Al-Maqdis
8:51 So eat of its fruits, grains, and plants, if you grow from them
8:57 And say this act is a humiliation that erases our sins
9:01 We forgive you for your past sins
9:05 We will not take you for it
9:07 We will increase those who are obedient to God for the forgiveness of sins I promised you
9:13 Then those who were unjust among them substituted a length other than what they had been told, so We sent upon them a punishment from heaven because of their wrongdoing
9:32 Other than those who disbelieve in God among them are what God commanded them to say
9:38 They said wheat in a ritual
9:41 What they say is different from what they were told
9:45 So We sent upon them a punishment from heaven because they changed what they were commanded to do
9:52 They do contrary to what God commanded them to do
9:56 And they say something other than what God commanded them to say
10:00 And ask them about the town that was by the sea, when they transgressed on the Sabbath, when their whales came to them on the day of their Sabbath according to law, and on the day they did not observe the Sabbath, they did not come to them. Thus We tried them because they were defiantly disobedient.
10:29 O Muhammad, ask these Jews about the village that was near the sea
10:36 As they transgress the command of God on the Sabbath
10:39 And they go beyond it to what God has forbidden to them
10:43 When their whales come to them on the day of their Sabbath, during which they are away from work
10:49 A street visible on the water from every direction and side
10:54 And a day they do not venerate, they venerate the Sabbath
10:58 And on all days the whales do not come to them
11:03 As we described to you of the test and trial that we mentioned
11:08 We also test them by their immorality and their departure from obedience to God
11:13 And when a group of them said, “Why do you admonish me, God will destroy them.”
11:25 Or torture them severely
11:30 They said, “Excuse me to your Lord, and perhaps they will be righteous.”
11:38 And remember also, O Muhammad
11:40 When a group of them said to a group that was preaching to transgressors on the Sabbath
11:46 And forbid them from disobeying God in it
11:49 When you preach to a people, God will destroy them in this world because of their disobedience to Him
11:55 And they made permissible what was forbidden to them
11:58 Or He will punish them with a severe punishment in the Hereafter
12:02 Those who were forbidding them from disobeying God said
12:06 We advised them to apologize to your Lord
12:10 We fulfill what is obligatory upon us in enjoining good and forbidding evil
12:15 Perhaps they will fear God and fear Him
12:19 When they forgot what they had been reminded of, We saved those who forbid evil
12:34 And We seized those who did wrong with a miserable punishment because they were defiantly disobedient
12:46 When I left the sect that used to practice the Sabbath
12:50 What God commanded her to do was to abandon transgression
12:54 She lost what the preaching group preached to her and reminded her of
12:59 God saves those who forbid them from disobeying God
13:03 And We punished those who transgressed on the Sabbath with a severe and wretched punishment
13:08 Because they were violating God's command
13:11 They go from obeying him to disobeying him
13:15 When they disobeyed what they had forbidden, We said to them, “Be despicable apes.”
13:24 When they rebelled against what was forbidden from transgressing the Sabbath
13:30 And they made permissible what God had forbidden to them, such as catching and eating fish
13:35 We told them to be monkeys who are hostile to goodness
13:40 And when you decided, your Lord would surely resurrect them until the Day of Resurrection
13:49 Who inflicts upon them evil torment
13:57 Your Lord is swift in punishment, and He is Forgiving and Merciful
14:05 And remember, O Muhammad
14:08 When your Lord knew that they would send upon the Jews those who would inflict upon them an evil torment
14:14 Indeed, your Lord, O Muhammad, is quick to punish those who deserve punishment
14:20 Indeed, He is the One who pardons the sins of those who repent
14:23 Merciful to him is to punish him for his crime after he repents of it
14:30 And We divided them into nations in the land, some of them were righteous and some of them were less than that
14:38 We tested them with good deeds and evil deeds so that they might return
14:47 And We dispersed the Children of Israel into various groups in the land
14:53 Among these people are those who believe in God and His messengers, and some of them are less than righteous
14:59 We tested them with prosperity in living and abundance in livelihood
15:04 We tested them with hardship in their lives and calamities in their wealth
15:08 To return to obedience to their Lord, turn to it, and repent of His sins
15:15 After them, there was a successor who inherited the book
15:22 They take this lowest offer
15:29 They say we will be forgiven
15:35 If an offer like it comes to them, they will take it
15:41 Was not the covenant of the book taken from them?
15:45 Do not say anything about God except the truth
15:50 Do not say anything about God except the truth
15:54 And they studied what was in it
15:57 The Hereafter is better for those who fear
16:03 Do you not understand?
16:07 So it changed after them instead of the bad that happened after them
16:11 They inherited the Book of God, so they taught it and neglected to act according to it
16:16 They bribe in the judgment of God and take bribes in it
16:20 Whoever offers this immediate and closer term than the furthest term
16:25 They say if they do that God will forgive us our sins
16:31 Haven't these bribers been held accountable for their rulings?
16:35 Covenants to establish the Torah and act according to it
16:39 That they say nothing about God except the truth
16:43 They do not add to it anything except what was revealed to His Messenger Moses, may God bless him and grant him peace
16:50 And they read what was in it
16:52 And what is in the Hereafter is what has been prepared for his guardians who preserve its borders
16:58 Good for those who fear punishment
17:01 Do these people not understand that what God has is in the Hereafter?
17:07 Better than this little offer that they rush about in this world
17:12 And those who hold the Book and establish prayer
17:19 We do not waste the reward of reformers
17:24 And those who work according to the Book of God
17:28 They performed prayer within its limits
17:31 Whoever does that is of my creation
17:33 I will not waste the reward for his good deeds
17:37 Conclusion from the interpretation of al-Tabar
